I thought it was Deep Purple too, but I've got an excuse...
I'm seeing them with Scorpions and Dio in three weeks.
To: Sabertooth
Agreed ... co-victim was a hiss of genius. Thanks for all the flags.

Ahhh...Jame Retief. I had the same reaction. The author should have named the narrator "Ambassador Grossblunder" or "Secretary Pouncetrifle."
Excuse me. Miss Braswell just showed up with a bottle of Bacchus Black. I'll be taking the rest of the night off. Hope there are no Groaci under the bed.
Tosses his beret across the office and onto the hatrack and leaves...

"Didn't Hadayet have a bumpersticker on his front door that said, 'Read The Koran?'" Everyone turned to the young voice down the table. As to motive I take Hadayet at his word; "Read the Koran".

This was one of my Mom's fav songs, I don't know who sang it. Was it Deep Purple?
When the deep purple falls, over sleepy garden walls
And the stars begin to twinkle in the night
In the mist of a memory
You wander back to me
Breathing my name with a sigh
To: MissAmericanPie
The name of that song is Deep Purple, written back in the 30s. The most famous rendition (nowadays) is probably the Nino Tempo and April Stevens version from the early 60s.

Palladium? While you're there can you nail down what that smell is?
At the Greek. "That Smell" was a Skynyrd tune, btw.

Thanks for the ping. Satire or not - it's politics at work!!
To: Brownie74
This administration does not pay any attention to politics or polls - get your mind out of the gutter.

I agree. They darn sure don't pay any attention to polls.
According to Zogby:
Bush job performance drops 7 points to 62%;
One in three are worse off today than one year ago;
Nearly one in three worse off than two years ago;
Majority less likely to invest because of scandals.
Zogby International's "Zogby America Poll"
surveyed approximately 1,109 likely voters
nationwide July 12-15. The margin of
sampling error is +/- 3.1%
This is just a sample of the poll.

Excellent!! I thought of Retief as well. Now Jamie Retief, instead of listening to Ambassador Grossblunder's obfuscations, instead would have taken a Mark XXIII Bolo (Unit RMY, or "Rummy" for short) continental seige unit and .........
But I'll leave that to your imagination!
