I had the chance to tour the BB Missouri when she stopped in Astoria, we had to wait in lines for hours but it was worth it. To stand near the spot where the Japanese Surrender took place was just awe inspiring. Those 16 inch gun turrets send shivers down your spine. You could sense the power of these great ships.
I love your posts, nice to know there others who still have a love for the old "Big GUN' Navy.
