But 245i only protects good illegals. As if there were such a thing.

Thanks for the ping. 245(i) is nothing more than a welcome mat for these dangerous bozos and other invaders who "just come for a better life". LOL! I would hope that Bush changes his tune real quick on this, but I can't imagine, if he does, how he will break the news to his buenos amigos Fox and that arrogant Marxist side-kick of his.

He's a "Lottery" winner also.

Personally, I think immigration should benefit US..

Meaning that we can pick and choose people with the skills we desire. This idea of picking people out of a hat makes me sick.

Have any more questions as to why the FBI has been so reluctant to call this terrorism?

Sorta changes the direction of the finger pointing, eh? And while doing so, it also changes the particular finger used. 245(i) should be allowed to permanently sunset. Rewarding criminals is bad policy, and all illegals are criminals.

This administration will never admit that 245(i) is a reward for criminals.

The illegal alien cheerleaders and the Mexican invaders have been pushing hard for this loony reward, too:

Immigrant groups ask U.S. to ease citizenship process

Jarrett Banks, The News Staff - 6/4/2002

WASHINGTON - Mexican immigrants from the National People's Action, a network of U.S. grassroots organizations, on Monday urged the U.S. Senate to streamline the process allowing immigrant workers to become U.S. citizens.

Leaders of various pro-immigrant groups met with several Senate staffers "demanding justice be done," according to a spokeswoman.

The object of their plea is to allow undocumented immigrants who qualify for residency to remain in the U.S. during the application process.

Most immigrants who do not have legal status must return home to complete their applications at a consulate overseas.

"A person who doesn't have documentation is looked at like a criminal," said Teofila Muñoz, an immigrant living in Chicago. "Our only crime for being here is to work for our families and be good citizens for the (United States)."

A chairwoman for the organization said families are being torn apart under current laws. She said immigrants are not asking for a blanket amnesty.

Under the new proposal, a person who had committed a crime would not be allowed to enter the country.

Lupe Avolos from Chicago, said her sister-in-law in Mexico was separated from family members who were able to get U.S. visas.

"We need this addition to be passed," she said.

The organization also asked for the legalization of students who are children of immigrants and were brought over at a young age.

Veronica Castañeda, a student in Wichita, Kansas, said even though she graduated from high school with honors, she could not go to the university she wanted to because of her status.

"All we want to do is contribute back to society and to this country which is ours," she said.

The group also asked that outstanding students who are under age 21, have "good moral character," good grades and have lived in the country for five years, be legalized so they can go to college.

Duh. All illegal aliens are criminals. They need to be caught and deported. No more freebies, including subsidized college tuition.

Whatever we do with this provision, why don't we at least get rid of the diversity lottery?

He's a "Lottery" winner also.

His wife was the lottery winner. (She also hit the lottery when her scumbag husband was killed, IMO).

BTW, does anyone else think it is curious that the wife of this guy who was on his way to being deported, and a member of the Egyptian Jihad, hit the visa "lottery"? Seems a little too coincidental to me.

It would certainly be interesting to know precisely how the lottery is conducted.

"This administration will never admit that 245(i) is a reward for criminals."

Immigration (legal/illegal) will not become an issue with the politicians and especially this administration until the terrorists are successful in making a 'good hit' on DC. At that point, the borders will slam shut and profiling will be the norm.

Deadly diversity, dumb program

In the drawer of dumb, post-September 11 immigration ideas, the State Department's Diversity Visa Lottery program sits near the top of the heap. What could be more out of touch with the national security goals of the War on Terror than giving away visas randomly to thousands of people from the Middle East to fulfill a politically correct social agenda?

Nearly 55,000 lucky lottery applicants and their family members qualify for permanent residency visas (green cards) every year, which put them on the path to American citizenship ahead of millions of other foreigners patiently waiting to come to this country. The visa lottery was championed by Sen. Ted Kennedy and signed into law by President George H. W. Bush in 1990 to admit more "underrepresented" immigrant minorities into the U.S. Although originally intended to give a leg up to Irish immigrants, most of the winners are now from non-Western countries-including several terrorist-sponsoring and terrorist-friendly nations.

How many lives have been sacrificed at the altar of diversity through this immigration set-aside program? We now know of at least two casualties. One of those who hit the visa lottery jackpot was Hala Hadayet, wife of Egyptian immigrant Hesham Mohamed Hadayet-the gunman who killed two people at Los Angeles International Airport on July 4th. Hadayet should have been deported from this country six years ago. After entering the country legally in 1992 on a six-month visa, he overstayed illegally and then filed a petition for permanent residency.

I doubt that another terrorist attack would cause Bush to change his idiotic policy of pandering to illegal aliens.

Don't blame Section 245(i),...

Hashem Hadayet was only here to murder the Jews that Amercans don't want to shoot.

I pinged Miss Marple and Howlin to this thread - it seems that they don't want to discuss 245(i) today.
