CA Driving Tax "Drive In" Protest Set for Sacramento 7/12.

SUV/Driving Tax Bill Protest directed at Gray Davis. Drivers who like big, safe vehicles and who like to fit their entire family in one car will be descending on Sacramento Friday, July 12.

Sponsors, John Kobelt and Ken Champeau of KFI-am Los Angeles, will rally southern California participants from 3pm-7pm in Orange County on Thursday for a caravan to Sacramento. They will foot the bill for rooms overnight and lead the protest on Friday. All interested are welcome to attend. Just look for the traffic jam!

Darn! If this was Friday-Saturday, I would definitely go. I hope my Mercedes 420SEL would qualify as a proto-SUV. It gets about the same gas mileage as one :-).

Consider me there in spirit, anyway. I can't afford to take a day off work :-(.

This sounds like a "Ride for Justice" to me. The "Dump Davis" bumper sticker on my SUV qualifies me. How great that these radio guys have gown up since their early LA radio daze.

It has been fun to watch a couple of wise crackers, start earning good money (paying big taxes) and then having a family, and then become attentive citizens,, and then relevant radio hosts.

Spirit is moving me up there - unfortunately the mercury is moving up, also. I want the T-Shirt!

done! emailed Brian Wilson, lee and melanie. Officer vic and barbara simpson too. if I had Brian Sussman's email, I'd send it to him too. He is on a christian station in the bay area now, 1220AM at 2pm. seems to be only an hour show. After that it's hugh hewitt.

The station seems to randomly be off the air though....not 24 hrs yet

Sacramento should know that this kind of thing makes it harder on those of us who need vans to transport wheelchair users. I don't think that my wife could get her power chair into a compact car.....maybe the bean counters at the Capitol could do the math for us and tell us how that'll work.
