— GAINESVILLE, Ga. (Reuters) - A group of white supremacists said Wednesday its members and sympathizers would march through this Georgia town this weekend to protest an influx of Hispanic immigrants in the area.

The National Alliance, a West Virginia-based group that advocates the establishment of all-white "living areas" in the United States and other Western nations, said the march on Saturday would focus attention on the links between illegal immigration and gang-related crime in the Gainesville area.

About 30 percent of Gainesville's population of 27,242 is Hispanic, according to the 2000 Census. Racial tensions in the town, located about 50 miles northeast of Atlanta, have risen in the past year after a number of drug-related crimes blamed on Mexican gangs.

"Gainesville has been swamped with uncontrolled immigration and we told them last year that they were going to have problems with gangs," said Chester Doles, a coordinator for the National Alliance in Lumpkin County, north of Gainesville.

Doles added that the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States had fueled greater interest in the group's anti-immigration message and activities. "The local citizens are responding more than last year," Doles said.

The march is due to begin at 8 a.m. EDT on Saturday and is expected to last about an hour. Local law enforcement authorities and community leaders are telling residents to stay at home during the rally.

Oh what a touch subject. Well let's just dive into it, I don't like nor participate in any White supremecist movement acts. But quite honestly I have to say that I wish they would pick up every illegal alien here & their butts back to where they came from. Now don't get me wrong, i'm not any race, religion or other. But damnit if they aren't here through the proper channels, I shouldn't have to deal with their gangs, pay for their food or lodging and I damn sure shouldn't have to pay for their school & health care.

Funny you should say that,,, 75% of the customers at that Wal-Mart are Mexican. I don't know what those wack jobs from West Virginia are thinking of. Knowing Gainesville as well as I do, I'd much rather have the Mexicans. Besides....try to get one of these "whitey's" to work in one of the poultry processing plants, somebody has to do it, since no one else will

I guess some people are a little sensitive to treating poor little illegal immigrants who are in this country illegal as though they are breaking the law.

I only mentioned gangs because they said they had a problem in Gainesville, Ga and that mexican gangs were blamed in the article. Don't get me wrong I don't have any problems with a certain race, as a matter of fact there are loads of Mexicans here where I live and for the most part they seem like decent hard working people. But look to California & see the nightmare of Welfare recipients, medicare recipients and you will see that there are tens of thousands of illegal aliens being supported by yours & my tax dollars & then possibly you'll understand why I said what I said.

Funny thing about all of this, the great majority of the Hispanics that live in Gainesville are legal, with wives, children. They go to school, pay their taxes, go to church.

The area has had tremedous growth in the last several years, as has the whole North end of Lake Lanier...as the inner city cretains prey on Dunwoody and other north areas..people are moving from Roswell, Dunwoody and North Atlanta to escape what our "Great" transit system (MARTA) has dropped on our doorstep
