12:57PM Halliburton responds to Judicial Watch lawsuit (HAL) by Michael Baron Halliburton (HAL) is off 30 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $13.82, in midday action. The company is out with a press release responding to a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based legal watchdog group. The suit alleges fraudulent accounting practices at Halliburton took place during the period when current vice president Dick Cheney served as its chairman and CEO. Halliburton called the claims in the suit, "untrue, unsupported, and unfounded." The company continued: "We are working diligently with the SEC to resolve its questions regarding the company's accounting procedures. Halliburton has always followed and will continue to follow guidelines established by the SEC and GAAP, General Accepted Accounting Principles."
Ann? Ann Lewis? Is that you?
I only know of Clare Booth Luce because of the Institute in Virginia. They have luncheons all the time and have Ann Coulter come to speak a lot. Ann Coulter is another awesome pundit.
I don't like paying my bills..only running them up.

Listen, my only sister died of ovarian cancer, but that has NO business in the Pentagon budget.
I believe Bush could win if he'd swear to clean out the whole damn town.

The only way in which that can be done is through confiscatory tax increases.
They already TAKE our money. Unless you're planning on overthrowing the government some time soon, all I'm saying is that they can use the money they ALREADY have to take care of the people in this country.
In the meantime, try to live in the real world.

Well, I can't agree with you on all of that. My sister was able to get into a program at NIH and I'm positive that it gave us three good years with her, when she had been told she had less than six months to live.
There is graft and corruption everywhere. But I, for one, believe that the one thing this country can and should do is provide GOOD health care for us -- all of us.

Why is it that when somebody disagrees with you, people like you always resort to accusing the poster of being a Democrat?
It's not very orignial and it just shows the vacuousness of your argument.
By all means, keep paying your own medical bills in cash, don't let them "trick" you into preparing for the future.
Just remember that when your bill gets too high, or you get really sick, the government is going to take your house and put you in a nursing home of their choice.
I, on the other hand, will have taken advantage of government medical testing and will be healthy, probably living at some wonderful retirement home which I planned for by BUYING INSURANCE.
Are you just too dense to realize that there ARE some things that the government should do?
For some odd reason, I still imagine you to be a sweet-looking lady, not a pig.
What do you call it when the government pays your medical bills? Just curious.
