12:57PM Halliburton responds to Judicial Watch lawsuit (HAL) by Michael Baron Halliburton (HAL) is off 30 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $13.82, in midday action. The company is out with a press release responding to a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based legal watchdog group. The suit alleges fraudulent accounting practices at Halliburton took place during the period when current vice president Dick Cheney served as its chairman and CEO. Halliburton called the claims in the suit, "untrue, unsupported, and unfounded." The company continued: "We are working diligently with the SEC to resolve its questions regarding the company's accounting procedures. Halliburton has always followed and will continue to follow guidelines established by the SEC and GAAP, General Accepted Accounting Principles."
That is why I put evidence in quotes. He never has any. GET IT?
You: Yeah and so was 99% of the country's corporations PLUS the United States Government. What the hell is your point?
My point is that, given your statement, virtually all of our country's corporations and our government provide lies and fraud as truth to the nation. What should the fate of these officials be?
Ding ding ding...you win the prize tonight!
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Read that back to yourself, I know I'm still laughing.
That may be the case, that may not. Then why do you believe the Justice Department took the entire firm to task, instead of the few corrupt ones?
This move on the DOJ's part is what is going to cause the entire company to go out of business.
A lot of people in Illinois are employed by Arthur Anderson and are angry at this move. Although I cannot say this was the wrong move on the DOJ's part.
OK .. then why does Larry think it is his job to investigate Halliburton .. Why not let the SEC and the DOJ do their job
He is on a witch hunt for Cheney .. so the question is .. who is supporting him
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ... care to take a guess
The suit is NOT about AA but Larry thinks it is. This is NOT AA accounting practice this is about how Halliburton and every large EPC contractor books project changes. AA and its "accounting practices" are irrelevant especially in regard to Halliburton.
Hey, I can't even prove that Clinton knows what 'is' means.
Give me some time .. the meds haven't kicked in yet ..LOL
1. Then where was the SEC before now? They are supposed to be monitoring this type of stuff. The SEC is supposed to cases to the Attorney General to prosecute in court. Up until Klayman's announcement, both the SEC and the DOJ were pretty silent. Good thing Larry came along.
2. These people (shareholders) have a legal right to sue, are you going to deny them this right?
