12:57PM Halliburton responds to Judicial Watch lawsuit (HAL) by Michael Baron Halliburton (HAL) is off 30 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $13.82, in midday action. The company is out with a press release responding to a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based legal watchdog group. The suit alleges fraudulent accounting practices at Halliburton took place during the period when current vice president Dick Cheney served as its chairman and CEO. Halliburton called the claims in the suit, "untrue, unsupported, and unfounded." The company continued: "We are working diligently with the SEC to resolve its questions regarding the company's accounting procedures. Halliburton has always followed and will continue to follow guidelines established by the SEC and GAAP, General Accepted Accounting Principles."

I certainly hope that Halliburton's lawyers will counter-sue Klayman and get rid of that snake oil salesman once and for all! It would make my day!
You bring up an interesting point -- why didn't the clintons countersue for frivolous lawsuits brought by Klayman? Why did the clintons just take it all in stride as part of the vast right wing conspiracy? Why didn't the clintons go public right away when he would sue them? Could it be because they already knew what he was up to?
To: Howlin
I think it depends on who is "on top". He needs the money, and will get it from whoever it is who wants to do the suing. Right now, conservatives (true conservatives) are supporting Bush and Cheney, and liberals and RINO's are not, so they support JW by giving them their money.
Larry, I suspect, read the book "The Art of Swindling" while in College and it changed him. Or he is just a spawn of Satan. Or an antichrist. or all of the above. Either way....
LARRY is a FRIEND od the CLINTONS!

Larry Klayman was in Sanders Sauls' courtroom and stood up to speak. The judge practically slapped him, and cut him off in mid-sentence.
--a precious moment indeed. =)

I'm basically in shock. I thought the green and gold Green Bay Packer fan casket I saw here yesterday could not be topped. And that's shocking because????
Yes, from birth--with the hospitals in Green Bay putting green & gold hats on the babies--to death--with Packer caskets--we're covered.
I suppose this isn't a good time to bring up the green & gold brat buns and bread they make on Packer Sundays, huh?

Hey Larry, time to change your Depends!

Too funny -- a class action suit against Freepers! Nothing would surprise me from that lowlife!
But then I think the clintons and their minions were behind the lawsuits brought against Jim and FR to try and shut this site down! How is that for tin foil?
To: FreedominJesusChrist
I thought you should be formally invited to this party. I still believe you are a lib here causing trouble, but we need the levity. Thanks for your posts!
To: Howlin
Klayman is an opportunist, who goes where (he thinks) the $$$ is, imo.
Not his ridiculous lawsuits, but to the "contributors" who want to "get" the opposition.
Each time he files, I'll bet the solicitation letters go out by the thousands.
So far as I know he hasn't won a case yet, so how does he turn a profit? How does he keep operating?

See #122. Great minds, yada yada yada....
To: TLBSHOW
is Larry a fruitcake or what? Last year he sued too! July 17th, any word on that one? LOL Larry is playing either the "stopped clock" or the "blind squirrel" gambit.
To: Catspaw
LOL - hey, I'm a genuine Lombardi brat (rhymes with "cat") - I just never thought I'd run across a green and gold casket. Now, I might request that my Bart Starr football be tucked under my arm when I go to my final resting place, but that's about as far as I'll go. :)

Halliburton called the claims in the suit, "untrue, unsupported, and unfounded." Thank goodness, I thought they would say "Mr Klayman is correct,we fraudulently inflated the stock prices."

The "goatboy" insult is an affront to goats everywhere. :-D

Larry finally hit the publicity jackpot by going after someone the media would back him up on.

Hey! I resemble that remark!
To: copycat
So, which media outlet will grant him an interview. I say it will be Katy Couric or Judy Woodruff. What do you think?
To: copycat
I've come to the conclusion that Larry is a glutton for public humiliation-- the more he receives, the harder he tries. I think Larry, having stuck his head into the wrong lion's mouth, will draw back a bloody nub.

There are 3 general types of service contracts - Time & Materials, Not to Exceed, and Fixed Price. If it's a Time and Material contract, then cost overruns are absorbed by the customer (unless there is pre-approval language and approvals were not properly obtained). For both Fixed Price and Not to Exceed contracts - the cost overruns are absorbed by the contractor. T&M contracts book revenue as you go.

I am not a liberal and am sick of trying to argue with you guys.
You believe whatever you want to anyway. It is obvious that one cannot hope to facilitate change by posting here on Freerepublic. Obviously, there must be a more productive way to get the truth out.
Have a Nice Day.
