12:57PM Halliburton responds to Judicial Watch lawsuit (HAL) by Michael Baron Halliburton (HAL) is off 30 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $13.82, in midday action. The company is out with a press release responding to a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based legal watchdog group. The suit alleges fraudulent accounting practices at Halliburton took place during the period when current vice president Dick Cheney served as its chairman and CEO. Halliburton called the claims in the suit, "untrue, unsupported, and unfounded." The company continued: "We are working diligently with the SEC to resolve its questions regarding the company's accounting procedures. Halliburton has always followed and will continue to follow guidelines established by the SEC and GAAP, General Accepted Accounting Principles."

I highly doubt that fact escaped Larry and his research staff.

Oh Yayyy!!! An integrity war...

Hmmm...reads to me like this accounting change is the basis for his suit.
If it was properly disclosed, I'm failing to follow the logic.

Notice you weren't asked to participate.

That's okay, I do not feel left out.

I'll be glad to put up my integrity against yours. I'll not play your divisive games any longer. Like I said, when I see bullies I have this intense desire to punch them in the nose.
And what I said in my last several posts was mimicking your nasty methods used against others unnamed here.
But I really don't think you needed to bring Richard Millhouse Nixon into this thread.

Given the current state of affairs, financial fraud on a major corporation's part, an accounting firm all too willing to cover up this corporate crime, and business executives who profit off of honest investors misgiven trust, should not surprise any of us at all. Fraud is a crime. A civil lawyer, even one with the unquestioned "stature" of Larry the lion Klayman, cannot bring fraud charges. Now, tell me again what it is that Larry the lion is doing again? Is he charging Cheney with a criminal act or is he suing Cheney on the behalf of two minor shareholders that are claiming completely opposite causes of actions? You have been screaming slander all over this thread but you should be aware that it is really slander to accuse a corporation of criminal activity as many on disgruntled employee websites have found out.

I agree with you, it was damn the torpedos, full speed ahead. What's a footnote anyway? Who bothers to read them, particularly in a stock market bubble? Think of all the little people that were hurt that don't know what a footnote is. It is time to level the playing field, except for a certain self apppointed umpire.

You know what is so infuriating about this -- the fact that we ALL know the NEXT lawsuit Larry Klayman is going to file will involve George W. Bush. And it will be some trumped up bogus statement like this.
Larry Klayman hasn't even SEEN the first piece of evidence in this case and he is already on TV saying Cheney might be impeached.
To: Fred Mertz
When you dive deep into the hypothetical and resurface, you may find that you and reality have parted ways.
He [George W. Bush] is, thank God -- and will be for the next six and a half years -- my President. [credited to Brian Allen]

You supported that crook? GOOD GRIEF.

There was nothing wrong with that post of mine. I clearly stated that the Bible predicts a one-world government in the end times, and that those who do not believe this will happen, do not read the Bible.

And my eyesight is getting a little tired tonight. Okay?
I'm almost a SOMEBODY....there!

I would like to hear Judicial Watch state their case in court and then make an informed judgement from that.
Then why don't you wait instead of parroting the line of your buds over at the watch? ..... Oh I know the girl can't help it.
To: FreedominJesusChrist
That sound you hear is my point going right over your head. Again.
To: Howlin
Klayman would have sued Bush if the statute of limitations hadn't run on the Harken transaction. That is obvious. It is Klayman's ultimate fantasy. Klayman wants to go to the top.

Thank you for clarifying that criminal vs civil distinction. It would seem that charging that Cheney was guilty and deserved to be impeached would be a slanderous statement to me. Especially if it were declared on national television.
