12:57PM Halliburton responds to Judicial Watch lawsuit (HAL) by Michael Baron Halliburton (HAL) is off 30 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $13.82, in midday action. The company is out with a press release responding to a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based legal watchdog group. The suit alleges fraudulent accounting practices at Halliburton took place during the period when current vice president Dick Cheney served as its chairman and CEO. Halliburton called the claims in the suit, "untrue, unsupported, and unfounded." The company continued: "We are working diligently with the SEC to resolve its questions regarding the company's accounting procedures. Halliburton has always followed and will continue to follow guidelines established by the SEC and GAAP, General Accepted Accounting Principles."

We can hear you all the way over at the Hobbit Hole on the cheesehole forum. Heck,I was sound asleep under the table in General Interest and they woke me up.
To: Howlin
"See, I'm not a coward and I'm not afraid to say what I think."LOL! We all know that Howlin, and that is not a bad thing at all.
But what I would like you to consider is that perhaps Klayman really is onto something here. There has been a lot of financial fraud on the part of Anderson and big corporations lately, period. Given the current state of affairs, financial fraud on a major corporation's part, an accounting firm all too willing to cover up this corporate crime, and business executives who profit off of honest investors misgiven trust, should not surprise any of us at all.
I would like to hear Judicial Watch state their case in court and then make an informed judgement from that.
To: Howlin
I forgot to add:
Everyone here knows that your answer was disingenuous.
They can see that you're lying through your teeth.....well, your keyboard and monitor that is.
To: FreedominJesusChrist
Wouldn't you also like to hear Halliburton's side before you make your informed decision?
To: Amelia; Howlin
I have never accused either you or Howlin of not possessing integrity. I understand that we will probably never have the same opinion on Judicial Watch, but I will not judge what is going on in your heart or your intentions.
To: terilyn
Yes, I would. And I have never stated that I believed them to be outright guilty, just that it would not surprise me, given the current state of affairs, if they were.
To: FreedominJesusChrist
Absolutely not. And you, dear, would be the absolute LAST person on this forum I would even consider listening to.
Until you answer our question today, you have no RIGHT to sit here and pontificate to any of us.
You and Larry Klayman are smearing a good man, for your own benefit.
Larry Klayman has no idea what he's gotten himself into, and I, for one, am going to pull a chair up to the TV and enjoy every single minute of it.
He's going to be proven to be the shyster lawyer he is. And then he will claim it was all politically motivated.
He is, plain and simple, a liar.
To: Amelia
Wow, I've been quoted!
I might be a somehody someday.
To: Fred Mertz
Wanna take a poll to see how many people here think I'm lying? I'll be glad to put up my integrity against yours.
To: FreedominJesusChrist
And I have never stated that I believed them to be outright guiltyYou've never said anything "outright".........you are a parrot for Larry Klayman.
To: FreedominJesusChrist
So the fact that Halliburton published, in their annual report, which is distributed to all shareholders by law, that they had changed that particular accounting practice has entirely escaped you and Larry?
To: FreedominJesusChrist
Klayman filed a lawsuit to find out if anything untoward happened that was illegal, with Cheney legally culpable. At this point it is clear that he has not a shred of evidence that that is the case. Maybe he will get lucky, and stumble into the vein of gold and become a fixture of history. In the meantime, this lawsuit is equivalent of a Hail Mary pass, and most of us in Larry's profession simply don't do business that way. Period.

Until you answer our question today, you have no RIGHT to sit here and pontificate to any of us. Do you realize how stupid this sounds, especially coming from you.
To: terilyn
Wouldn't you also like to hear Halliburton's side before you make your informed decision? Well that would make to much sense ..

I believe the legal term you are looking for is "Let's say it and then see if we can find some facts to back it up."
To: Fred Mertz
I answered your question.
Got anymore? I'll be glad to answer them, too.
To: Mo1
Now Mo1, you're stating the obvious ;)
To: Fred Mertz
I might be a somehody someday. Repeat after me...."I AM SOMEHODY..I AM SOMEHODY...I AM SOMEHODY!!"
To: Howlin
Actually, it is worse than that. It is let's "sue it" not "say it."
