The problem with this Casio is when the batteries go without any warning, you lose all of your data.

The problem with this Casio, is when its "batteries" go, we have blackouts:

LOL, Sequoiaphilia? Sounds splintery :)

We just shut up all of our windows and doors, fifteen minutes ago. It was 68 in the shade on the west side, the coolest side in the morning. That is even hotter at this time yesterday.

Im getting ready to do the same thing.. I wonder how many records get set today? To all the raisins in the valley .. Smile.. Yur about to get cooked !

Actually a few Kali power companies, probably gave Davis more money than the standard $100,000 bribe.
Now with the disaster of the power buying fascists working for Davis and the anti business agendas of our criminal Attorney General, no company will invest the billions required for new plants.
You invest billions and dare to make a profit. Then the head Communist Burton, Fascist Davis and his criminal DA come at you. They will make you look like the worse company in the world for daring to make a profit.

If the raisins get cooked now, isn't that premature cooking?

Photo of Davis stopping by to lend his expertise to the Casio People to avoid blackouts:
For a small donation of $100,000, Gray Davis will sign one of these photos and send it to you with postage due.

Photo of Ernest's new Kali Math class students in an enviral cool off and tree hugging exercise to beat the heat. There are never any wrong answers in New Kali Math Classes, only evil questions that want the correct answers. This is another reason why Carry Okie home schools his children.
Now that I have raised the standards on my own thread. We are off to go babysit in the AC with our grandkids.

Ugh. As to the power issue, this chart will be interesting as local radio up north in the valley is saying temps of 117-120 over next two days. *sssttt*

The Associated Press says thast the County of Los Angeles has issued an Extreme Advisory Alert:
"The peak demand for electricity is expected to come at about 4 p.m. today and crest at some 40,402 megawatts.
Because both Northern and Southern California will be hot today, the coincidental high peak demand could produce the biggest electrical loads the state has seen so far this year.
Lower import levels, power plant outages and the residual heat build-up that comes from a lengthy heat wave are all prompting the California ISO to call on consumers to curtail their use of electricity through Thursday."
Cranking up the heat on Greyout Davis!
To: Grampa Dave
Looks as if we'll be within 2% of demand from 3 to 4. Will the ISO issue an alert? Last year, everytime we went to Stage 1, it was like the world was ending to the media. Yesterday's Stage 1 received very little notice on the news. You don't think the media would soft peddle this to help Gray Davis, do you? Hmmmmm....

Stage One Emergency just issued at 2:30. It is scheduled to last until 5:59. Two days in a row.

Zonies, crank your AC and keep APS from selling those megawatts to CA. Force a blackout for Grayout Devious.

I love this e-mail notification I got from the state. The legal disclaimer is longer than the alert.ISO declared STAGE 1 Electrical Emergency for 07/10/2002 14:30 through 07/10/2002 17:59

The story of what happened on Tuesday is getting more interesting. It appears that the Cal ISO was caught flat footed and leaned heavily on the system to the point that it did not have suficient spinning reserves for the load it served both during the early afternoon (2:05 to 2:36) and from (4:57 PM to 5:26PM) SHAME ON YOU FOLKS! WECC thinks that reserves got down to only 6.6% which is a lot more than the ISO numbers indicated at 1.6%. This will be interesting to see how it all gets explained.
WECC (old WSCC) Daily Op's Report for July 9th
Note that it was published in the early morning and just casually discussed the Maintenance No-Touch Warning. Next check out today's (hopefully it is still July 10th when you check this other wise go to the archives site and pull out the July 10th report).
WECC Daily Op's Report
Note that in the report for the 10th it indicates that :
From 0000 to 1600, the COI limits will be dynamic with a minimum of 3200 MW north to south and with a maximum of 4300 MW north to south, contingent on equivalent units on the lower Columbia River, and the Boardman unit being offline. From 0400 to 1200, the COI limits will be 3950 MW north to south and 2450 MW south to north due to the Sickler-Schultz #1 500 kV line outage. From 1600 to 2400, the COI limits will be 4300 MW north to south and 3675 MW south to north due to northern California hydro generation.
From 1405 to 1436 and from 1657 to 1726, the California ISO was deficient in meeting spinning reserve criteria.
The California ISO issued a Stage 1 Emergency, effective from 1440 to 1900.
Yesterday?s Non-simultaneous Peaks, Reserves, and Generation Limitations at time of Peak
---------------Area Peak Demand-----Actual Reserves Req.-------Reserves Gen.-----Outages/Limitations
Calif./MX-RC---52,134----------------6.6%-----3,428------------3,551------4,546
1 Required reserves calculated to be 7% of peak demand.
