One joked that that while Mr. Bush likes to go to Crawford to unwind,
everyone else seems to go there to whine.

LOL! Make 'em sweat, President Bush!

I hereby volunteer to replace any reporter who doesn't want to go to Crawford. I would consider it an honor and a privilege, and as a bonus, I bet I could ask an intelligent question once in a while.

That'll frost the press corp.
Can't find a decent quiche or chardonnay for miles.

Some of us Texans would like to avoid Texas in August. Look at Red River & Ruidoso NM.

You boys and girls of the Press, don't mess with Texans. Write nice things about the President,(just the facts sirs and maam's) and maybe....just maybe, for your sakes, he will take you to Kennebunkport, for August of 2003.

Gotta love the subtle ways GW deals with his critic's.

"Bush ready to trade Maine for Crawford"

Is this a straight trade or does Maine get two future draft picks?

What irks me is they always make a big deal out of Dubya going to Crawford for three weeks.

Never heard a complaint of Bubba mooching off friends for three weeks, wherever he could beg a vacation.

I bet I could ask an intelligent question once in a while.

You've already disqualified yourself from ever being a WH reporter! Just ask Helen Thomas.

One word to describe the press: Weenies!

Same here. I'll come cheaper than a reporter, too.

Thanks for making my morning.

Just the thought of the press spending another August in Waco and surrounding areas of Crawford makes me laugh!

Having visited Kennebunkport in October a few years ago, I can see why the press wouldn't want to leave. That is one great place. The picture of the Bush family compund don't do it justice. Beautiful.

Got a call from a friend in Texas two days ago. She said that it has been about 100 degrees with about 90 percent humidity, every day for weeks. She said the weather has been living hell. She was there to teach a 5 week training training class. She said she told here boss, that she is not coming back, and that he would have to find someone else next year for the class. LOL!

I could deal with that long enough to find a jet.

Maine for Texas?

In the mornings and evenings, can you hear the Mocking birds singing their extensive music catlog, the doves and their lonesome call, see the deer and turkeys enjoying the dew soak grass?

Can you watch the roadrunners going from shade to shade in search of lizards and snakes?

Do they have Night Hawks swooping the low grass in the evenings, darting back and forth for insects and mice?

Can you sit outside at night to play cards, drink beer and enjoy the sounds of the night or are your Northern bugs too large to even consider this?

Our Summer time weather may seem extreme and hostile, but one will be amazed at the wildlife that thrive in this environment. There are things that you will see and enjoy nowhere else.
