In the event of an actual emergency

Bacteriological Warfare components, are especially now, not something to wait for fruition.

Bacteriological Warfare components in the hands of the Islamic "world" that follows a God who Hates, may be relied upon to be delivered by ways conducive for mosquitos to spread such diseases, yellow fever, malaria, and West Nile Virus, to name three which would ring a bell via the news media.

Saddam and Iraq are known carriers; but please add the other known dilettantes (lovers of the fine art of killing people):

Communist Cuba / Fidel Castro

Red China

North Korea

--- the Axis of Terrorism.

These carriers are a sore point for the menu-driving leftist political moment who would save bugs before you --- see the remarks of Reed Noss, author of "The Wildlands Project," [he] says "... the collective needs of non-human species must take precedence over the needs and desires of humans" at Trouble brewing in Florida's swamps: Henry Lamb explains why property owners are fighting mad, WorldNetDaily, July 7, 2002 (posted by JohnHuang2).

Their years of crying out in protest to ostensibly save the environment from applying bug-killer, has accounted an expense of millions of people who have died from malaria in southern Asia, Africa, and Central and South America --- but who is to notice? when such socialist acts for votes are not judged by the left as anything but spiritual purification before their altar (thank you joanie-f).

It would please our nationalizing socialist leftists (Hillary Clinton, her court: attorneys, Strobe Talbot, et al) to not spray, get votes, let people die, and later read the newspaper op-eds about what we should have done back in the Summer of 2002, because that is what liberals do: experiment with human life on large scales, all errors washed down the drains, examples: the malaria dead and the10s of millions of aborted babies, bye-bye, out of sight and never on the mind.

Yet a weapon of mass destruction, when it comes to biology, is the mosquito; and we now face the serious prospect, beginning this month, that we either kill it or it kills us.

However, the historical evidence is in, regarding how the Democrat Party's political momenti will rule the fate of mankind, their inclinations to date: Utopia is found by fratricidal maniacs; the people must first die or otherwise suffer en masse to get to permanent dependency --- that's correct, it cannot be achieved.

Just swell; therefore in the meanwhile suffering our directorates, that we might live, requires that enough well-minded people still be alive to observe and then put a stop to the madness by applying bug-killer, let alone voting out the fratricidal maniacs.

Firearms will not protect you.

Backyard bug bombs might.

Some people like Cutters; I prefer OFF.

...

But perhaps you thought my warning was complete?

Here in a major metropolitan city, MidWest, U.S.A.; yesterday, July 6th, round 8 P.M. or so, I drove by the very large fuel depots (British Petroleum, etc.) on my way to the hardware store (yes, to buy the aforementioned bug bombs).

One of the buildings along the street was sounding an alarm, a claxon; red light beacon flashing. This is a depot where the large fuel trucks pull in to load gasoline for transport to area gas stations. You know, the exact same concerns about which the F.B.I. has warned the American public, that are targets for the Islamic terrorists who are planning to take the fuel and ...

The gates to the fueling yards were wide open. There was one pickup truck approx. 80ft. south of the main building/offices where the alarm was sounding and light flashing.

No fires; no smoke ... but also, nobody and no bodies.

I drove back, doing probably an illegal u-turn and then onto the properties, pulling around in front of the main building/office door.

There, at the front door, was an array of fire and emergency alarm switches. I contemplated Pulling the Big Lever, but I could not tell from the box, just what might happen. There were "lesser" boxes, with switches, but I also passed on them.

I thought, perhaps the poor bloke inside is overcome, or having a heart attack; I'll check the door and see if its open.

Yep; it was open; I went in; and I yelled, "Hello!" several times; I checked the men's room but no keeled-over employee(s).

These offices looked somewhat like the highway patrol's of yore; there's a sort-of control room with computers, alarm devices; phone numbers to call.

I dialed the number: 911.

I told them (she) where I was located, and they confirmed it (by their computer systems reverse lookup, I presume); I said there did not appear at a quick glance, to be any people in need, nor was there a fire, nor smoke; but that "considering the current political climate, maybe you had better send somebody out here."

OK.

I'll wait right here by the front door by my car, it's a _________.

OK.

About five minutes later, a tanker truck pulled in the west gate and into the no. 1 (appeared to be) fuel dock; I approached the driver and told him what had so far transpired.

He, in no haste, departed the cab, looked inside an attendant's booth at the dock, then went over to the front door of the main building, examining the alarms; he had told me that there seemed to be a plant fuel pressure relief problem; at which point, I went back to the street to see if help was coming.

Suddenly, the main siren for the entire plant began to wail; of course it's about 100ft away to the west of me and I immediately wish I had some ear plugs. Traffic on the street begins to halt; it's a siren louder than any I have ever heard; looks to be steam driven?

A white pickup truck with British Petroleum logo and one old fella arrives; also a local police car arrives; and to the police officer, I give a brief report.

He, however, is puzzled because he is answering a burglary call; and another of his comrades arrives. Neither of the L.E.O.'s is paying attention to the transpired facts stated; they are only here for S.O.P. reasons, so to speak. The old fella does, however, notice a back door is not locked; go figure.

Myself, I am thinking, where the heck is the helicopter for a quick-see of a known terrorist target area?

Where are the employees of the company?

Where is/are the plant guard/s?

I ask the old fella, where is everybody?

Answer: There isn't typically anybody there on the weekend.

Jumpin' Jihad, your tax dollars at work. Homeland Security --- "Experts" --- sure.

Instead, there is merely the Bush [still running 75% of the Clinton] Administration to establish more of ExpertLand Securities and Federal LawyerLand Job Security.

If there was a war going on, there would have been guards.

Otherwise, nobody is minding the store.

Oh yeah. At the end of my tour of duty, finally, one of the L.E.O.'s realizes what I have been telling him, at least three times now: I made the call; I made no such "burglary" statement to 911 (please, go review the tape). Nice fellows, but misled by their own bureaucracy from the get-go.

My questions not given, till now:

Who knows how many gallons of fuel the bad guys took?

Would any of the parties --- they are all responsible --- ever admit today's findings?

In the event of an actual emergency.

Lot's of mosquito netting as "flys" and other assorted critters are going to be one of the greatest threats if such a bizarre scenerio should occur where high rate of death is present IMHO. Simple soaps, cleansers and household bleach products with care to not spread/introduce/keep suspect items that may have been exposed contamination.

Very good sanitation practices and clean home is best bet for staying healthy in an urban environment. Filtered or distilled drinking water will remove all bacteria but not viruses. But I was informed (correct or not) that a Virus must attach itself to bacteria to survive. So even if a virus survives the filter unless it finds a new home it dies alledgedly. That new home would include ones own body so modern UV type filters or boiling/distilling may kill any that remain after filtering.

Just my perceptions on the matter.....if they are incorrect please educate me (On FR that's a given though :o)

Stay Safe !

Yeah I have told all my "neighbors" about those that seem to be popping up like weeds these days. I for one would not want to draw skeeters into my yard to bite me and "then" die when they eventually find this gizmo. Now if I could get all my neighbors to buy em .........:o)

I say bring back DDT .....

Stay Safe !

I'm really not well read on virology, the nitty gritty; it seems that a virus does not need much to "live," but it needs a host in order to reproduce, so to speak, and spread.

My concern has been hosts; but I'm with you on attending to both virus and hosts. As civilians, we have what we can get at the store, to smash the buggers.

Truly diabolical "area fifty-one" kind of toys for killing bugs, is not my area; mine's fifty, ninety-eight, and ninety-nine, ie. long shots.

I have been looking at the UV in line filters that clean drinking water after a partical type (katydin filter) cleans the water down to .002 microns........Best bet for really clean H2O still remains to be distilling IMHO if one suspects critters in the sources.

A simple tea kettle with a few feet of copper coiled tubing to act as a condenser will make all ya need off the stove top.......Water , not moonshine now :o)

Stay Safe !

The more conventional threat of the BP tank farm is what is most interesting to me. We have no security in place there or at most of the other targets including some very large natural gas facilities. These alone could kill thousands without too great an effort on the part of the tangos.

As to mosquittos I am living in Connecticut land of the West Nile Virus. It is spread by mosquittos. There is little one can do to avoid these pests but the bug zapper near my deck does a nice job of keeping it clear of these critters. Of course the enviro wack jobs are more concerned about any pesticide spraying than the deaths that will come from an epidemic of West Nile. Just think in fifty years one of their children may develop a cancer from the exposure to the pesticide now. Of course the same child could die tommorrow from West Nile Virus. They are idiots who think they are immune4 from that which they do not understand. I realize the demographics of West Nile victims have been primari;y the infirm and elderly but some young children have also succumbed.

It is hard not to obserb what you drive past. The level of vulnerablity to attack here in the USA is very great. IMHO there is a desire on the part of Al Qaeda not to hit some of the more openly vulnerable spots until after a couple more high profile attacks and some harassing attacks seeking to further divide the American response. Perhaps I am giving them too much credit but it seems by focusing teh attacks properly they can be used to fragment American society even more and generate opposition to the policies necessary to stopping terrorism.

Unfortunately, I think they can be convinced that a Mohammedan goal here would be to create an Islamic U.S. society; thus, murder and mayhem work against their initial designs. Irony, I should prefer their militancy --- that we have a blatant foe --- instead of compromising to the point where an Islamic cleric succeeds before the Supreme Court where Christians have failed ... and the Congress finally establishes a religion satisfactory to Mekkah.

I would wager that the socialists and Islamicists would use each other skillfully, each determined that in the end, their particular fascism will consume the other.

I prefer a determined defense, beginning right now, no compromise with either of them, no matter how "mean" they define us.

A friend as inquired, that I should investigate the fuel depot for a possible theft of fuel. I doubt that happened, but it may have. Should I?

The Mosquito Magnet would be a great addition to our couple of acres, but unfortunately, the cheap one is $500. I'll just keep using the OFF, I guess.

Your story about the tanker depot is fascinating. In a nutshell, there is the story of how America has become a "let somebody else do it" culture from top to bottom.

You were one of probably a thousand people who passed the depot with the alarm sounding who 1. knew about the FBI warning, and 2. cared enough to actually do something.

Everybody else said to themselves, "Hey, homeland security is not our job, man." (it should be) "let somebody else do it".

The reluctant cops who showed up basically said "Hey, homeland security is not our job, man." (it should be) "let somebody else do it".

The owners of the depot said "Hey, homeland security is not our job, man." (it should be) "let somebody else do it".

The feds, of course, want the job, but should not have it. When all is said and done, all Washington wants is the power and money, and when they've gotten that, there won't be any left to post a guard at the tanker depot.

By demanding that others take care of us, we'll only end up poorer and less free, but not any safer.

Here is a very serious question that I hope no one makes light of. If one has a yard full of chickens, and they consume large quantities of insects (a given, if one has a yard full of chickens), the insect population will be decimated. However, will the chickens be infected by any of these diseases? Will they become ill or die? Will they be carriers, able to infect humans? Will people become sick if they come in contact with the chickens? Or if they eat the chickens? Or if they eat the eggs?
