E-MAIL TO PRES.BUSH , Express Support For Conservt. Sen. Bob Smith (NH)....
New York Times ^ | 7/7/02 | Pam Belluck

E-MAIL THE WHITE HOUSE AT president@whitehouse.gov -See article on Freerepublic : ' A GOP Primary Strains Party Ties and Bush Loyalties ' , article in New York Times , By Pam Belluck 7/7/02

.... Then e-mail Pres . Bush to support your fellow Conservative Bob Smith . Tell Pres . Bush you oppose Bush's support for non - incumbent family friend Sununu.

This is arrogance and senselessness on Pres. Bush's part to support a non-incumbent who is unlikely to win against the Democrat opponent , especially when hopes of Republicans gaining the majority in the U.S. Senate are very ' ify ' at best.

Conservative incumbent Senator Bob Smith has won and been in office for SEVENTEEN YEARS !

As if Republicans can afford to squander their opportunities to gain the Senate majority . Tell Pres. Bush that if he continues to support the non-incubent Bush family friend Sununu , you will support a non-incumbent ANTI - ILEGAL ALIEN candidate to run against Pres . Bush in the 2004 Primary .

It's not the President's place to take a side in a primary election. He did in Iowa - and Harkin's opponent is pretty much a RINO.

Please remove this stupid vanity. It belongs in General Interest with "Who left the dimensional door open?" and "The New Hobbit Hole."

I'll be giving as much support to Smith, as I will to McInsane, Chaffee and a few other RINO's like them.

I will probably send Sununu some cash. Smith voted against ANWR development, thereby putting American soldiers in the Gulf at further risk, our economy potentially held hostage to Saudi enemies and ensuring the public of an unstable energy supply.

In a speech on the Senate floor that traced his history in political office and in the Republican Party, Smith said he had made a "decision of conscience" and said that he has "decided to change my registration from Republican to independent."

"I came to the Republican Party on principle, and I'm leaving on principle."

Bob Smith left US and claimed we left him. He came slinking back, silently, when his Presidential ambitions failed.

As I recall, it was widely reported that W got his "first political test" in his father's administration when HE, W, was called upon to oust the elder Sununu. I have always been under the impression there was bad blood there. At least with the father.

Bottom line, I think he is looking for a winner against a very popular Governor Jeanne Shaheen. Sununu may be less conservative than Smith, but he ain't no liberal Jeanne Shaheen.

Bob Smith will lose against Shaheen but Sununu wins. It's really that simple.

I am with you! First Smith left the Republican Party, then when he came back he demanded that he get the Chairmanship of a Committee that should have gone to Senator Inhofe, and then voted against ANWR. That is three strikes for me.

That doesn't even include the polls showing that Sununu has the better chance to win than Smith in November.

. . .Senator Smith, who in 1999 made a short-lived bid for president and bolted the Republican Party to run as an independent.
At the time, Mr. Smith delivered a 55-minute speech to the Senate that savaged the party, saying, "Maybe it's a party in the sense of wearing hats and blowing whistles, but it's not a party that means anything."
--Source

In the eyes of New Hampshire Republicans, Smith can never come back after delivering a vicious slap in the kisser like this.

Only his extended family and sundry Smith diehards continue to support the guy. Especially when the polls show that John Sununu is the Republican contender who, in all likelihood, will beat Shaheen handily in November. The same polls show that the party-bashing Smith will definietly lose to the Democrat Shaheen.

Bob Smith committed a mindless act of political self-destruction. Currently--and sadly--he's a member of the Congressional walking dead.

Is this the same Smith who declared himself and Independent for a Presidential run and spent an hour in front of the podium telling how usless the GOP was. I'm sorry but he made a choice and now has to pay the bill.

No ,PEOPLE WITH INTEGRITY SEE THE TRUTH FOR WHAT IT IS AND DON'T LIVE A LIE . AS THOMAS PAINE SAID : " THOSE WHO HAVE LIBERTY MUST BE WILLING TO TAKE THE PAINS TO PRESERVE IT ."

Bob Smith took the necessary courage to tell it like it is : That the 'r'epublican Party became a spineles ,useless and cowardly bunch , AND STILL IS .

I would add more to that TRUTH and REALITY : How can th Republican base compliment such a duplicitous , hypocrite , PANDERING TO ILLEGAL ALIENS candidate as G.W. BUSH in 2004'? Bush is NOT a TRUE CONSERVATIVE and he is NOT A TRUE REAGAN REPUBLICAN no matter how much he or others want to say otherwise .

HONOR THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF FOR HIS POSITION, BUT - If it were not for the dying sacrafice of over 2,000 people in and near the twin towers on 9/11 , George W. Bush would still be pushing for amnesty for over 5 million illegal aliens , 'regularization of over 5 million illegal aliens', and Republicans would be headed on a hopeless tail spin into the 2002' Congressional elections and 2004' Presidential and Congressional elections

For me being a Reagan Conservative Republican , high poll ratings for homosexual agenda promoter President Bush will allways ring hollow in my heart and mind , because those high ratings were the result of over 2,000 people dying in part , because President Bush did not fire the 4,000 Clinton appointeees after he entered office ( Robet Novac wrote an editorial article in the Primary campaign of 2000' saying that if G.W. Bush became President ,he should fire the 4,000 Clinton appointees. Well he didn't , because he said on the day of his inauguraal that he wants a 'NEW TONE ' in Washigton. Well America likely paid a heavy price for that new tone on 9/11 , because it appears in the light ( or darknaess )of that 'NEW TONE ' G.W. Bush had not taken seriously the damage that eight years of Clinton did to our governmental law enforcement agencies and more, and thus we had 9/11 .

. After 9/11 we get the news that the CIA and FBI had info it could have acted on before 9/11 .WHEN WILL THE REPUBLICAN BASE GROW UP !!! *** VOICE OF AMERICANS *** Committees Of Correspondence PAC , VOA/COC/PAC , P.O. Box 5053 , Anaaheim , Ca. 92814

AND STILL IS .

Then please explain why Smith came crawling back, all beaten and bruised by his "presidential run," and is now embracing this bunch of "spineless, useless" cowards.

If what you say is true about New Hampshire voters never accepting Smith agaain , it would just go to show even more that the 'r'epublican base and President Bush are losing their key wind to victory Republicans held in the past : the moral high ground , and is on the way to major defeat in the not to distant future. Pres. Lincoln would have a fit.

See my latest response posts to others with details ; I think you will find them quite interesting.Republicans have for some time begun to act like Liberals : ADULT CHILDREN WHO REFUSE TO GROW UP . So why did he go back to them if they were spineless.

He should have had the courage of his convictions, formed his own party toe exspouse his views.

I think he is more like Jim Jeffords than a stand up guy.
