According to the ticker on top of Ha'aretz the FBI is reporting that the LA Airport gunman was an Egyptian-born resident of Irving, California.
Perhaps this guy was psychologically unable to commit suicide directly, in other words, push the bomb trigger himself.
Nor is this sort of incident unusual. If you read news accounts from Israel, a lone gunman infiltrating a settlement or crossing a border is pretty common. He then starts shooting. Body counts are not as great as those for the suicide bombers, so these incidents do not make the headlines, but they do occur.
This sort of thing makes the ferocity of the Spanish Inquisition more understandable.
"Just being technical, and adding a touch of humor, which obviously was ineffective."
Not at all...I got it.
They got lucky on 9/11 when a foreign gov't, probably the Syrians,Iranians or Iraqis really financed and planned this attack in conjunction with a professional terrorist organization.
Al Qaeda in reality on its own could be laughable enough to behind this attack. Or it could be Fatah or one of the other countless Palestinian terror orgs. If you look at their mode of operations you will see a lot of their attacks are just like the LAX shooting. They might have made their debut on our shores like this, but within weeks we'll be seeing more shootings and then explosions.
LOL! Very good!!
I'm glad somebody has a sense of humor around here! :o)

Yeah. Like this guy, Mohammed Abd al-Rahman Abd al-Raouf Arafat:
Yassir the Egyptian:
In that case, do you call the two guys that dragged that black man to death in Jasper Texas terrorists? And what about Klebold and Harris at Columbine? I consider them criminals, not terrorists.
Terrorism is the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.

El Al ticket desks have been a favorite target of terrorists for decades. This attack is more similar to other attacks at el Al desks then it it is to Columbine. In fact, except for the fact that a gun was used, an Egyptian with TWO driver's licenses and TWO birthdates shooting up people at an airport is in no way similar to two screwed up, brain dead dorks murdering their teachers and classmates.
It does sorta bring to mind the attack on Israel's Lod International Airport [Now Ben-Gurion Airport] by members of the Japanese Red Army on May 30, 1972, on behalf of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine [PFLP, pronounced *flop*]
Though those shooters, who used Czech automatic rifles and grenades carried in musical instrument cases, [shades of the Chicago tommygunners with violin cases!] were of Japanese origin and consisted of two men and a woman, it's worth remembering that not all the Arab/Muslim terrorists or their hirelings or allies are named Mohammed and have dark complections. Indeed, if the successes of the Boston Mob and Russian intelligence services are any indication, they've probably got some US-born FBI agents on their payroll.
