My mom was supposed to be in that parade, but she got dehydrated a few days ago and wasn't feeling well enough today to participate. It sounds like those Dems took away from the celebration.

It sounds like those Dems took away from the celebration.Probably not for most people who, sad to say, are too clueless to even think about such things as the real meaning of July 4.
But they definitely detracted from the parade for me.
