We were in DC in 2000 for the 4th. It's a wonderful event. Every one should at some time in their lives. Unfortunately, tonight I am working. The building is tall enough and the land flat enough I can see at least 4 different towns fireworks displays. That is kind of nice, but I'd rather be in DC or on the lake. Happy 4th everyone!!

I was just thinking I wish we had gone! We've been several times, and you just cannot beat it! I wonder what the crowds were like.

Next year the mall for sure, now that the kids are old enough. The fireworks on the webcam were fabulous and the kids had a blast doing something different but I want the real thing.

The last time I took my kids to downtown D.C. was for W's inauguration. I can't wait them again in 2004 for Bush's next one.
