Isn't it sad how the media is scared to even ask whether the shooter looked arab.

Frenchman who was at the counter was talking to reporter and said that the shooter might have been Arab looking. He said it all happened so fast.

They're making fun of and educating the public as to the complete and utter cluelessness of the morons on the idiot box who purport to tell us what is going on in the world. This is a wholly worthwhile activity that can only help society.
Hope this helps.

French Canadian is my guess. The El Al flight was going to Toronto and he could catch a connecting flight to Montreal or another city in Quebec. He also lauded the El Al security.

Isaac Yeffet, the former director of general security for El-Al, blamed the attack on
terrorists.
"The motivation would be he is part of Palestinian terrorists, or Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad or even al-Qaeda," the network of Osama bin Laden blamed for the September 11 attacks, Yeffet told MSNBC.

Thats gotta hurt!
Why don't you ask the two young girls on whom the plane landed? If they're still alive.

ARAB! And they've arrested two other people! Are you insinuating that this might be terrorism? How irresponsible! /sarcasm>
To: floriduh voter
Two observations:
1) By definition, the Israelis would consider ANY shooting at an El Al counter as terrorism, regardless of the motive, or who was responsible, or what their ethnicity was. I don't think they have any magic inside instant info. And you start getting into the philosophical debate of what "terrorism" is.
2) We're once again going to see official statements unfortunately twisted around by 1) the media and 2) people that like to bash officials.
There's been a consistent problem with officials saying "no indications this was ______" morphing into "_____ has been ruled out" when quoted by the media. And then if it DOES turn out to be _____, then people frantically whine that "the gubbmint said that ____ was ruled out!"
Good example is flight 587. Right after it happened (and to this day) there hasn't been the slightest indication or evidence it was terrorism. Immediately after the attack, various official sources said there were "no indications of terrorism being involved." They were speaking the absolute truth. At no point did ANYONE official in the first days or weeks after 587 say "terrorism has been ruled out" though you'll see all kinds of people here claiming that.

Fox has some "expert" on now calling this a random act of violence. Suggests that it could even be a suicide!

Yes very true -- nothing better than putting the blame on some "right winf militia group"...
I've been trying to read through all these posts, but there is just too many at one time to get all the details -- did anyone hear about stabbing in addition to the shooting?

Wouldn't it just be easier to roll those vans up to any one of the thousands of fireworks displays tonite? You can get access to just as many people without going through all the extra stuff?

I know. Ten freepers have corrected me re: the airlines. I listen to the radio and southwest is anti-fatties and the other one fires drunken pilots. I'm flying United to Denver to Las Vegas for Friva Las Vegas. Are they okay?
