Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank You for this day and for Your many astounding blessings. I thank You for the love which You have shed upon me and upon this great nation. In the beginning of our country, people came here to worship You freely and I believe You have honored their memory. Now, as we look back at our 226 years of history, we can see so many times where Your hand was with us, intervening in our affairs and protecting us. I pray Father for Your protection today as well, on this 4th day of July. Lord, bless this day and let it be a good one for this nation. Let the time spent with family and friends be profitable and let Your grace be remembered even as the fireworks light up the sky which You created.

I pray for President Bush. Protect him as he travels and let this be a good 4th for him as well. Give him wisdom and discernment, courage and determination, and peace within his heart.

I lift up Israel, Lord, as well- for her struggle is not over, but her God is strong. Lord protect her and show Yourself to her that she may be drawn to You, and bring peace to Jerusalem.

Go with us the rest of this day, Lord and bless us that we may praise You. For it is in the precious and holy name of Christ Jesus my Lord and Savior that I pray these things, Amen.

We thank You today, our one true God, for being the author of true liberty, freedom, and justice. We know that You have set Your laws and commandments before us, Father, and we praise You for the wisdom and the understanding You gave our Founding Fathers as they established the government of these United States. We commit our nation to You, Lord, asking that You never move Your hand away from us. Please do not leave us to our own devices, but dwell with us always in the Spirit, that America may always be led by Your truths.

Father, please bless our President with far-reaching wisdom. He has asked for our prayers, Father, which means he recognizes that You are the vine and he is a branch. He understands that You are the source of all wisdom. He acknowledges that he needs that which only You can provide. Therefore, we gladly place him in Your arms, Father, and ask You to lovingly provide everything that he needs to do the job You have set before him. Shield him and his family from the devil’s taunts and schemes. We claim our President for Jesus Christ and we say without wavering that the devil shall not have this man, nor his wife, nor his daughters. The precious blood of Jesus Christ is covering President Bush and his entire household. Father, we praise You and thank You for this leader You have chosen for this time, and we ask You to make his testimonies and witness for You extend beyond the boundaries of America. Let others from all nations understand that he is a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Father, we pray for God-fearing men and women in our government and for the winnowing of those who seek to serve the devil. We ask that You would bless the people of this nation and the nation of Israel with continuous reminders of Your presence. Bless everyone, Father, who seeks to earn an honest living, who lives a life that honors You, who obeys the laws of this nation as well as the laws and commandments You have set before us. For the strength of this nation lies solely in our relationship with You. Strengthen Your remnant, Father. Give us courage to persist in prayer and to continue to lift up our nation and its leaders to You. You are the only wellspring that can provide eternal life through the blood of Jesus Christ. Thank You, Father, for the wonderful gift of salvation that You have offered to all of us.

We praise You for Your faithfulness to us in our personal lives as well as in the 226 years of our nation’s existence. We pray Father, that in the coming years, America will grow ever closer to You and that souls from all parts of the world may know You through our collective testimony.
