Almost any profession that relies on licensing exams will be scrutinized closely to determine if women and minorities fail these exams at a higher rate than white males. Just like the SAT, which was originally used because it was supposed to be "unbiased."

Social engineering aside, your comments regarding "dumbing down" of medical licensure exams were inappropriate. Unless you are a licensed physician, you have never undergone the ridiculous number of hurdles required to render medical opinion in the United States.

When it comes down to it, the free market is an excellent judge of character. Unfortunately, liberals rely on their central committees rather than the judgement of the consumer. Evaluation of medical competency is a matter for physicians AND patients, not a central committee of liberal pundits with tenure at a university!
