[history]
Jennings, preparing for his "PJ the DJ" debut as host of a three-hour ABC musical special on the Fourth of July, is a country fan who has Keith's 2001 album, "Pull My Chain," in his collection.
Keith lashed out at Jennings and ABC last month for not including his September 11-themed song, "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)," in the special. ABC said Keith was considered but not invited because he insisted on opening the show.

I saw an ad for the PBS special earlier today and they have Charlie Daniels in the lineup. I thought he said he wouldn't take part?

We like our polka here, but we also like Toby Keith. We like him much better than a Canadian anchorman!

"Jennings was mum on whether this would be his last big special for ABC News." His last 'big special"?? Heck, I've never even seen the first or any 'big special' in between. Gonna miss it this year, too.

So what's the big deal? There's lots of people who recorded songs about 9/11. If it's true that this guy made a prima donna move and insisted on opening the show, I don't blame ABC for blowing him off.

That is apparently NOT what happened. I heard Toby Keith interviewed by Sean Hannity. He says he has correspondence where they begged him to open the show with his song, then the producer canceled and told him Jennings killed it because he thought the lyrics inappropriate. Keith says he will show the correspondence to anyone interested.

"His last 'big special"??"Like everybody is going to be sitting in their living rooms glued to the TV watching Peter's special and hanging on his every word.
I think they should move Jennings to the "Scifi" channel. He may not be much on science, but fiction appears to be his stock-in-trade.
