...a heavy-handed government is spending hundreds of millions of dollars... We can at least take solace in the fact that hundreds of millions of Canadian dollars is only worth, what, $2.50 or $3.00 in real money.

Keep in mind that Canadians are still "subjects" of the English Crown--and we all know what has happened in England regarding gun ownership--there is none! (Except for the government, and criminals, that is.)

Gun control will continue while the 95% of the gun owners do nothing.

My comment wasn't directed to Canada or it's citizens. In fact, I don't think I have ever commented on any Canadian thread while I have been a Freeper so I believe this is my first. Since I have no reason or inclination to visit your country, I really don't care what you people do.

"American hunters and recreational shooters who strongly support the Second Amendment..."
The fallacy begins here. We fight to keep our rights not because we need the meat, enjoy the outdoors, or like to hone our competitive skills. We fight because guns are the ultimate means to deter or fight tyranny.
The second amendment has as much to do with hunting as the first has to do with playing Scrabble.
