Lahore, 1947, Independence & The Partition
I regret to say that 1947 was the darkest period of my life. We were told that murdering the non-Muslims, seducing their wives, burning their properties, was an act of Jihad, that is Holy War. And Jihad is the most sacred duty of a Muslim because it guarantees him a safe passage to paradise where no fewer than 72 houris, that is the most beautiful virgins, and pearl-like boys wait for him. Such a reward is a great temptation!
It was during the first week of August, 1947, when l was an accounts clerk in the railway office in Lahore that I saw a train pull in from the East Punjab. That was full of mutilated bodies of Muslims, men, women, and children. It had a terrific, horrendous effect on me. When I went home I prayed to the Lord asking Him not to forget my share of houris & boys. Now this is true. I actually prayed and then I took up a club, and a long knife and I went out in search of non-Muslims...

I am a liberal humanist.
I'm not advocating Islam, but good grief! Somehow I find it interesting that a fanatical Muslim killer could go from that to successful capitalist to liberal humanist. In its way much more interesting than a conversion to Christianity.
It's a question of how much a person can change. Going from one religion to another decenter one is less of a stretch.

What a bunch of fantastic garbage, I have a hard time believeing anyone actually thinks this way but we do have some people here near the TO airport rolling around in holy fire. I also fail to see how this relates to political disicussion outside the value of "know your enemy", I have noticed a bunch of these set em up and knock em down arguments which have no bearing on anything. My dear, now that I have seduced you i'm afraid I have to kill you.

I am beginning to think that the Muslims believe that making non-Muslim women and children submit to them is a victory over the men. If they can dishonor the women and children, it makes them feel superior, and it gives them power over the infidel men. The Muslims who act like this are truly pathetic and weak. Fighting women and children is the only way they can win a fight. If they have to fight men, they are shown as cowardly and impotent.

Uh, what kinda trip are you and what is with the muslim name? I use the handle "Salman" in honor of Salman Rushdie. I am Jewish, not a Hindu.

I don't know what you have been injesting, but you might back off a little. And, the militant Muslims are cowardly as shown by their terrorist attacks on innocent women and children, their love for raping kids and women, and their methods of fighting.
