The British Consulate General in east Jerusalem contributed more than $20,000 to a Gaza Strip kindergarten belonging to an organization affiliated with Hamas, and which operated pre-school activities supporting terror attacks against Israelis.

The British contribution, part of the education projects and development assistance given to the Palestinians over the 2001-2 fiscal year, was geared for renovations in a Nuseirat refugee camp kindergarten run by the Islamic Society, the British Mail on Sunday reported yesterday. The paper emphasized that the Islamic Society is connected to Hamas, and its offices were closed repeatedly in the past on orders of Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat

Irish Americans openly funded the IRA for 30 years. Successive American governments chose to ignore or stop the funding, for fear of losing votes. All of America, by its complicity, has been funding terrorist for 30 years.

There is a fundamental difference between American citizens funding the IRA and the American gov't doing so.

So it would be OK for British citizens to send funds to Hamas terrorists?

The fact that American governments knew money was being sent to IRA terrorists makes them as guilty as the people who sent the money.

Neither was OK.
The IRA are a bunch of commie narco-terrorist.
Hamas are a bunch of Islamist terrorists.
Both use nationalism as an excuse for their real ends.
