We Want You to Join Us!

Don't Mess With Texas!

The Houston Activist Team
A FreeRepublic Network Chapter

Don't Mess With Texas!

We stood up to the socialists when they called former President Bush a murderer.

We let Senator Jeffords know what we thought of him giving the Democrats the Senate majority.

We defended the Second Amendment against false claims of the gun grabbers.

We reminded LULAC that illegal immigration is a crime and our porous borders are a danger to our security.

As delegates, alternates and interested guests, we joined FReepers from around Texas at the state GOP convention.

We relax, too - We enjoyed a wonderful celebration of San Jacinto Day for our April meeting

We Want You to Join Us!

We are going to continue to actively protest actions and policies that are contrary to our values and the Constitution. We are going to help elect candidates to increase the majority in the U.S. House and regain the majority in the U.S. Senate. And we want to fight vote fraud this fall.

We want your help. As we celebrate Independence Day this week won't you join us as we work to regain what our founders fought and died for?

We don't ask for a commitment in every activity - you choose where and when you want to help. Most of our work is coordinated online, but we do have monthly meetings, too. As a part of The FreeRepublic Network we also have a private, members only forum.

As we have met and worked together we have become friends, too. We have many impromptu get togethers for dinner or drinks. We all share some common interests, but we are a varied bunch, too. Don't worry, you will fit in.

If you are already a registered FreeRepublic.com member, send a FReep mail to Flyer or BobbyD. If you are just a lurker here, register and then join the FreeRepublic Network here.

The work we do is important, but I can't emphasize enough how much fun it is to hang out with like minded folks. If nothing else - try it! If it is not what you thought it would be, no problem. Join us today and help make a difference!

What if you think, personally, that picketing and yelling at passers-by is a very limited way to get anything done? Not that there's anything wrong with it, but IMO it gives you the FALSE SENSE that you're doing something, when in fact you're being largely ignored.

I'd prefer to know what sorts of other activities are being contemplated--letter-writing campaigns, for instance. Actual letters appearing in the mailboxes of legislators are counted as many times their number--the solon's staff assumes they each represent the opinion of, say, 5,000 other constituents who didn't bother to write a letter, but will bother to vote.

Is there anything being planned along those lines?

We have several projects planned. We plan to work as poll watchers this fall in the congressional elections. We also have plans to feed disabled vets at the hospitals. Some of us don't like to attend the FReeps, and that's just fine. Why don't you contact one of us, and give us your ideas. They sound like they could be productive We an eager to make a contribution in any way, and are open to suggestions. Give us a shot. If I may, another word or two, on the FReeps. Our aim is to get our local chapter exposed. Today's horn honker, could be tomorrows FReeper.

Each day I write letters, emails, I make phone calls and I work hard for conservative beliefs. For three years I did Flyer's job of emailing alerts to Houston FReepers. I've worked on conservative/Republican committees and causes for more than 35 years.

FReeps are a way of letting off a little steam and seeing my friends. You should try it sometime. It's cathartic to be able to vent, and it's fun too. It also sends a HUGE message to the public that we're not going to sit by and allow our freedoms to fade. It sure helped the civil rights movement!
