30-year-old Woman Gets 99 Years on Cocaine Conviction
Email story to a friend
(Huntsville-AP) -- A 30-year-old Huntsville woman has been sentenced to 99 years in prison for conspiring to traffic in cocaine. Madison County Assistant District Attorney Don Rizzardi says Tabitha C. Dickerson, who was sentenced Friday, must serve at least six to eight years before she is eligible for parole. A jury convicted Dickerson on the trafficking charge June 11. At sentencing, Circuit Judge Jim Smith imposed the 99-year term and also ordered Dickerson to pay fines totaling $13,000. Prosecutors said Dickerson had fled to Troy two years ago to avoid arrest, but was captured and returned to Huntsville. She still faces trials on two counts of sale of cocaine and another count of conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

NOTE: Those items are only punishable crimes under the following circumstances -
Murder: Only if it is a man doing the killing, and he is not famous. Sometimes women, but only if they kill someone other then their child or boyfriend.
Pedophile: Only if it is a priest, male, or a non homosexual.
Rapist: Only men can be rapist.

A 99 year sentence but could be paroled in 6-8 years.

When she get out, she'll either be 38 years old or 129 years old, whichever comes first.

I'm wondering what the amount involved was. If this was a sufficiently large enough quantity to motivate a sizable number of addicts to the crimes necessary to buy it, then the sentence is proportional to the harm caused by the potential sale of it.

Ooh, you're tough. Ever been in jail? It might change your tone a little, even if it's only for a few hours while you wait to get bailed out for a phony charge. You should try it sometime before you start howling to lock everybody up.

You stole the words right out of my forebrain, dear. But there's still hope. More conservatives than ever before -- and far more conservatives than liberals -- are questioning the Drug War's efficacy and moral consequences.

..Self Correction, she has now been released, but spent about ten years of a 31 year sentence for selling half an ounce of marijuana and $100 worth of methamphetamine to an informant.
Is that normal?

What crime did I commit, that I should be sentenced to pay for this non-violent womans food, clothing, medical care and utilities for the next 99 years?

...and far more conservatives than liberals
That's the thing that amuses me about the Free Republic pro-WoDdies. Liberals love the WoD -- it lets them increase the size of government, serves as a justification for more and more social programs, and is the fulfillment of FDR New-Dealism. What more could a liberal ask for?
What do conservatives get out of the deal? A weak morality play and a few more cops -- unionized cops, of course. Looks like we lose on that one.

Did you miss this part? If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. It seems to me that if a person knows the penalty for a criminal act, and then gets caught, he or she has no reason to gripe. And, the drug users/appeasers have no room to gripe either.

There is one solution for not serving time. Don't commit an offense for which you may be locked up. Try it, sometime.

Just love this new age reasoning. I assume it is new age reasoning. It is strange enough.

No - She should get the 99 year sentence - and pedophiles should be executed. Coke is poison.
