THE MASSIVE BUILD-UP IN BOSNIA

"Defence and Foreign Affairs Strategic Policy", London, May 31, 1995

The build-of new Islamist units was being completed in Bosnia-Herzegovina (B-H) in the Spring of 1995. These forces are closely associated with the Armed Islamist Movement and the international terrorism which operates under the guise of Islamic religious activism, and include the first organised deployment of "martyrdom" forces (that is, suicide terrorists): both veteran Arabs and newly trained Bosnians. These recent activities are now being conducted under the new Islamist headquaters in Tehran nad Karachi, decided upon during the PAIC (Popular Arab Islamic Conference), convened in Khartoum in the first days of April 1995. Major and higly secret consultations took place between high-level intelligence officials from the key terrorist sponsoring states and terrorist leaders from all over the world under the cover of the conference. They decided to establish "new Islamist representative offices" for the international Islamist movement. The new regional center in Tehran will be responsible for Islamist activites (training, equipping, operational support, etc.) in B-H (as well as other politically- sensitive spots), while the comparable new centre in Karachi will be responsible for activities in Albania (including Kosovo). (A fledgling Islamist training programme is already in Albania with volunteers from Turkey, Afganistan/Pakistan, and the Arab world. This has barely and is of no military significance as yet). Meanwhile, Islamist sources stress the importance of the Islamist build-up in Bosnia-Herzegovina. They point to a sense of urgency in Sarajevo in anticipation for a major escalation in the fighting. However, the overall Islamist effort and build-up is not just for the situation in the Balkans, but also to be used as a sound base for the Islamists' ability to expand operations into Western Europe - mainly France, the UK and Germany - in revenge for any military or diplomatic setback for the Sarajevo Administration.

In mid-May 1995, the leadership of the Armed Islamic Movement (AIM) was formally notified that the " Mujahedin Battalion is an officially recognised army battalion of the Bosnian Army; it is comprised of non-Bosnian volunteers, called Ansar, along with Bosnian Mujahedin." The formal name of the units is " Armija Republike Bh 3, Korpus Odred 'el-Mudzahidin". The commander, an Arab "Afghan", was identified as "Ameer Kateebat al-Mujahideen Abu al-Ma'ali", a religious-military title and a nom de guerre. The Islamist force is based in the Travnik area in central Bosnia.

The AIM senior officials in Sarajevo included in their report to the supreme leadership of AIM a strategic analysis of the situation in B-H and the general context of the importance of the Mujahedin Battalion. They wrote that "(the) Mujahedin are preparing for major battles, expected to escalate this summer. Military readiness is at maximum and the Bosnian Army is planning to take back its Muslim land from the occupiers." In order to facilitate this escaslation, total mobilisation has been declared in Sarajevo. " The Bosnian Presidency decided to establish the Bosnian Army Reserve Unit in which every able civilian will serve to share in the defense of the Muslim lands." Indeed, the strategic military challenges are immense.

The AIM senior officials stress that Sarajevo in anticipating an all-out war against both the Serbs and the Croats. " Bosnian-Croatian federal unity is becoming more fragile as a result of Croatian actions at the political and military levels. Croatian forces threatened several Mujahedin brothers while on their way to Hajj, and are continuing their atrocities in the occupied Muslim city of Mostar. There are strong indications that the Croats will back-stab Muslim forces." Despite the seemingly overwhelming odds against the Muslim forces, Sarajevo is confident that the time is ripe for such an escalation." The Serbs suffered a major setback as a result of a major Croatian Army offensive which took several occupied regions from the Serbs. The Croats gained many military hardware and over 400 Serbs were killed. The Croats lost an airplane and 20 soldiers. It definitely looks like the Serbs are running in terror and no longer have strong confidence to hold occupied lands."

The AIM report emphasises that both-the AIM senior officials in Sarajevo and the Sarajevo Administration of Alija Izetbegovic - are considering the forthcoming escalatory offensive as "a jihad to defend their religion and sacreds (Hurumar) against this crazed spiteful crusade". Therefore, they assure their superiors, the Islamists worldwide will do their utmost to support the Bosnian Muslim forces in this endeavour.

Recent military preparations support the Islamist strategic assessment.

The Islamist forces accelerated their training programme for both foreign volunteers and Bosnian Islamists. "The seventh class of the basic military training was graduated" in early May. A large gathering of the Mujahedin forces was organised to celebrated the completion of the training course and the dispatch of the new forces to "the front lines to join their 'steadfast' brothers, also called 'Murabitoon'." The graduation and deployment ceremonies were not different from these held in the HibzAllah and Islamic Jihad camps in the Beqa'a, Lebanon. Hundreds of Mujahedin, both Arab volunteers and Bosnians, with green ribbons with Muslim slogans tied around their heads, ran in formations in front of a salutation stage on which the religious leaders held prominent position. As they passed the stage, they were shouting in Arabic "There is no God but Allah!"

The AIM senior officials in Sarajevo specified in their report to the supreme leadership that in mid-May "the Battalion completed the building of a new camp called 'Martyrs' Detachment", in order to absorb many newly arriving Mujahedin.

Indeed, a new force of "Seekers of Martyrdom in the Path of Allah" - suicide terrorists - graduated an intensive course in training camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan in the early Spring of 1995. For the first time, the graduates included at least a dozen Bosnian Muslims. They, as well as volunteers from among the Arab "Afghans", constitute a special force under the command of one "Abu-Qassim". These suicide terrorists are to be deployed to B-H for both operations in the Balkans as well as, should the need arise, operations in Western Europe (specifically France, the UK, Italy, and Belgium). High level Arab sources in the Middle East stress that these Bosnia-based Mujahedin, especially the suicide terrorists, are being organised as a new force, forming a centre for operations throughout Europe. Moreover, the Islamist infrastructure in B-H will soon constitute the core of a new training centre for European Muslims.

Meanwhile, other preparations taking place all over the Middle East strongly indicate that the Armed Islamist Movement is actively preparing for major escalation in the fighting in the Balkans. In the early Spring of 1995, Iranian intelligence took over the preparing, financing, and sponsoring of a new Islamist force - "Bosnian Commandos" - made up of Bosnian Muslims who had received lengthy religious indoctrination and military-terrorist training in Iran. These Bosnians are now used as the leadership and command echelons of larger Islamist volunteer forces - "Kata'eb al-Munimin" (Battalions of Believers) - that would soon arrrive in B-H. Intense training and preparations are taking place in Sudan, under the command of millitary officers from Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The first detachement of the Battalions of Believers, comprised of "large numbers" of Arab graduates, arrived from Sudan in mid May, and immediately joined the Buzim brigade in north-west Bosnia. The Islamist leadership expects most of the Mujahedin to leave Sudan for the Bosnian front in the very near future.

In late May, an Islamist leader who identified himself as "Ameer Kateebat al-Mujahedin Abu al-Ma'ali" began issuing combat reports of the Mujahedin Battalion over his own signature for the AIM leadership in the Middle East. The strategic importance and centrality of the Islamist Forces is apparent from the very first report.

"Abu al-Ma'ali" stressed in his reports that "the Mujahedin Battalion in Bosnia-Herzegovina took up the trust (Amana) and responsibility to liberate the strategic region of Botsilo... That came after many unsuccessful attempts by many units of the Bosnian Army, and Allah did not Will at the time for the area to be liberated." He explained that following a series of setbacks for the Bosnian Army, Sarajevo entrusted the Islamist forces with spearheading the assault. "This time the mission was given to men... who came from all spots of earth" to fight the jihad in B- H. The key units were a battalion of "Bosnian Mujahedin... who were raised in the Mujahedin Battalion" and the volunteer Mujahedin Battalion: the Ansar.

Authough attributing the victory to the extreme bravery of the Mujahedin, "Abu al-Ma'ali" acknowledged in his report that "the Serb Command posts (were) completely destroyed by concentrated long-range artillery" before the Mujahedin stormed it. Indeed, the fighting in the Botsilo region stalled and developed into an artillery exchange. "Abu al-Ma'ali" reported that the Mujahedin and Bosnian Islamist troops "starded raining the Serb enemy with concentrated guided shells, on which they read the Name of Allah, and they asked Allah to carry the shells to its targets. Allah has responded to them, and the Serb artillery was silenced, after receiving direct intensified hits."

In one of his recent reports to the AIM leadership in the Middle East, "Abu al-Ma'ali" also acknowledged that his forces executed their Serb prisoniers of war. "As to the Serb prisoners, they were interrogated, and gave valuable information, and then they recived the punishement that they deserve."

Sarajevo's apocalyptic view of the future fits closely with the Islamists' growing anticipation of "gloom and doom" in their relations with the West. Having repeatedly and desperately tried to compel or induce the US-led West to intervene in the Balkan war and endure the brunt of the fighting against the Serbs, Sarajevo is increasingly doubtful about the likelihood of such an eventuality. The Islamist leadership interprets the overall situation in the Balkans as yet more proof of the West's implacable hostility toward Islam, urging Sarajevo to increase its involvement in the avenging Holy War.

It is under these conditions that Bosnia's role as the European springboard for Islamist terrorism is being consolidated further. The activation of the new Mujahedin units is but the very beginning.

It is under these conditions that Bosnia's role as the European springboard for Islamist terrorism is being consolidated further. The activation of the new Mujahedin units is but the very beginning.

The organizational base for 9/11 was in Bosnia and one if not several of the 9/11 group had Bosnian identifications.

The Suspects: A Bosnian Subplot By Andrew Purvis/Sarajevo, Time, November 12, 2001
Within 72 hours of October 16, five Algerian nationals were taken into custody and placed in a Sarajevo prison, bringing the number of terror suspects apprehended in Bosnia in the past month to at least 10. In the process, NATO uncovered a separate plot to attack Eagle Base, the airfield used by some 3,000 U.S. peacekeepers in the country. ‘‘We are confirming the presence of the al-Qaeda network in Bosnia,’’ said a spokesman for NATO-led peacekeepers.

From the shooting of Jewish activist Kahane, to the first WTC truck bombing to the African embassies bombings to the failed Millenuim/LAX bombing plots to the 9/11 attacks ALL had vetrens of the Bosnian jihad and or were staged and organized out of Bosnia's Islamic headquarters.

All under Clinton's watch and while he supported the Bosnian Muslims with money and military aid no less.

Clinton's support of the Bosnian Muslims may (I stress MAY) explain why we were blindsided on 9/11 and on so many other occasions and why Clinton's counter measures were feeble gestures.

I post this to defend Bush against the attack Gore has mounted against Bush in his current speeches. Powell Blasts Gore on Bin Ladengate Scandal

Like that fella said, "I have met the enemy, and He is, the Democrats AND the Republicans...

This was written in 1995, I guess by the time NATO helped attacked the Serbs the Karachi branch helped build the formidable Kosovo Liberation Army. Lucky for them NATO provided their complementary airforce.

Italy Becomes Iran's New Base for Terrorist Operations

Iranian Islamists have established an effective terrorist infrastructure in the Balkans region. Its axis runs from Albania, through Bosnia and Herzegovina, to Italy. There, a forward operations centre in Milan is preparing to export terror into Western Europe, reports Senior Editor Yossef Bodansky. An assassination attempt has already been undertaken against Pope John Paul II.

Show me one Bosnian suicide bomber, or for that matter, show me the results of this Iran/Pakistan (who were fighting over Afghanistan at the time, not cooperating lovey dovey) linkage with Bosnia.

Besides the evolution towards Serb/Bosnian military parity achieved with arms provided by some Islamic states, there wasn't a whole lot of lasting effects of Sarajevo's grabbing the hands that offered it help - sure, the Muslims have had their Mosques rebuilt with Wahabbi money which wouldn't be there if a collection of Serb vandals hadn't blown up said Mosques in the first place, in some cases literally paving the way for radical Islam to spread.

I suppose the connection between the gravel parking lots replacing 400 year old Mosques and an displaced, brutalized audience being ready to listen to the radical foreign Hodzas who replaced those killed off in the war is too much of a mental leap for some to make.

Or is Bosnia a sharia state today and are all the world's news organizations not sympathetic to Christoslavism pulling the wool over our collective eyes?

BTW, who wrote this? Yossef Bodansky?

Yup, Hoplite blame the Bosnian Jihadists on those evil Serbs......nice try at spin control but doesn't work on FR

1) OBL hizself was given Bosnian citizenship and a Bosnian passport by your pal Iztbegovic
2) One of the 9-11 killers also was a Bosnian citizen
3) The recruiter for the 9-11 killers was a recruiter for Bosnia.
4) The Aussie Al-Queda first learned his 'trade' fighting with the Bosnian Mujahdeen.
