Self | June 30, 2002 | Sauropod

Posted on 06/30/2002 10:16:55 AM PDT by sauropod

G'day,

I am doing a road trip to FRIVA and back. So far, i have two other people who are probably committed. I am looking for some others to help defray costs and help drive.

Interested? If so, please e-mail me at real_sauropod@hotmail.com

Nah, I-40 is fine (especially through Knoxville), but only if you have the right vehicle.

I'd recommend this:

Sorry 'pod, I'm using my annual leave to take my kids on our traditional family vacation. Because they are impressionable yutes, I thought better of a Vegas vacation. Believe it or not, there are still a few resort type places that don't have gambling, liquor, etc. So for as long as the kids are under my care, I'll keep torturing them with the family stuff. Call me old-fashioned.
:-)

Have fun in Vegas. The podmobile will be a big hit in all the liberal cities you pass through. ;-)

The idea is to leave the DC area on August 14th and drive such that we get to Lost Wages by noon on the 16th -- time to freshen up before the cocktail party starting at 7 PM.

Plan to leave Lost Wages at noon on Sunday and arrive in the DC area the evening of the 20th.

We'd like to get a total of six FReepers to share expenses for a mini-van -- so we need three more adventurous FReeper "Road Trippers" to make this work.

If you have never seen the USA by car, this is a great opportunity to do so -- and have alotta fun on the way out to Lost Wages, in Lost Wages and on the way back, to boot!

In short, a week's worth of fun!

So, what are you waiting for? Let's do it!

Why don't we leave DC at noon on the 13th? That will give us a "safety" window? Is that being to practical? Can't have two tired and fractious boys on my hands, now can I?
