Pray for Bush Day 651 and for Israel

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for this day and for the many blessings You have given us. I thank You for Your love and Your grace which astound us. I thank You for the gift of life which You give so freely and abundantly, and I thank You for the friends and family You have surrounded me with which prove to be a blessing with each new day.

Father, I lift up to You today President Bush, first thanking You that his colonoscopy went well. I thank You that Vice President's two and 1/2 hours as "president" were relatively uneventful, and I pray Father that the remainder of this day is uneventful as well. Lord, let there be no crises this weekend with which the President has to contend, but let him have a weekend of refreshing and renewal both physically and spiritually. Help him to refocus his energy and attention on You & Your ways, and bless him and his family - causing them to be a blessing to the US and beyond.

I pray for Israel, Lord. Even now her enemies are trying to thwart all plans for her survival. They hate her, and they hate You. Lord, confound her enemies and uphold Your chosen people as You did in times of old. Let the world see that there is STILL a God who protects Israel and let the world tremble and turn to You.

Go with us the rest of this day, Lord. Bless us and let us be a blessing to You. For it is in the precious and holy name of Christ Jesus my Lord and Savior that I pray these things, Amen.

Mighty God, Everlasting Father,

You are our lamp, O Lord; You turn our darkness into light. With Your help we can advance against a troop; with You we can leap over a wall. Help us to hold fast our feet to Your steps that we may keep to Your way without turning aside.

Father, we call upon You today to enlighten the American people about the lies that satan has been perpetrating regarding abortion. Open the eyes of all of us Lord, that we may be discerning in what we hear and that we may know how to respond to the distortions of the truth. Satan wants to convince us that the fetus is not a baby, Lord, and yet we know that life begins at conception. Unless we help others, including our own children, to understand this, we will never be able to overthrow the culture of death in this country. Father, the fetus is not a blob of tissue as the NARAL and the NOW people want us to believe. It is a living being, and aborted fetuses are human beings---created by You. Even the word, fetus, is the Latin word meaning offspring or child. Father, we know that in times past, slaves and Jews were not considered persons and therefore horrible atrocities were committed against them. Let us end this dehumanization of Your people!. You give us Your word which states, "Did you not … Clothe me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews? (Job 10: 10, ll). O Lord, help us to refute these lies about the inhuman nature of babies carried in the womb.

Merciful Father, please give each of us understanding about how we may help to end abortion in this nation. We pray for President Bush, that he may know the path You want him to take to terminate the nation’s endorsement of this evil practice. Father, surely You have wept over the many babies who will never be given the opportunity to live outside the womb. Grant us Your guidance, Lord. The partial-birth abortion vote will be presented in the Senate again. We pray, Mighty God, that You will convict the hearts of all the Senate members to end this heinous act. We know that President Bush will sign the bill. We beseech You, Lord, to grant us the votes needed to move it into the executive branch for this signature.

Guide our new President today, Lord. He is Your child. He needs Your wise counsel and Your strong hand to direct his path. Protect him from the plots and schemes of the wicked. How we praise You for all that You have done through him thus far! Thank You for guarding him as he endured his colonoscopy , and thank You for giving him good health.

Thank You, Gracious God for hearing these prayers today. We love You because You first loved us. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour, Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, I join the others here thanking you for the President's successful colonoscopy this morning, and praying for a restful Sabbath for him tomorrow, and a time of renewal with Laura and others in his family.

Thank You for Your abundant blessings on this country, and for Your protection. Thank You for Your unfailing love that caused You to send Your son to die on the cross for our redemption.

Thank You, Lord for Your answers to our prayers. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
