Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., must not be a fan of the Rolling Stones.
Apparently, the rock group's refrain, ''You can't always get what you want,'' doesn't mean much for the Arizona senator who co- sponsored the impressive campaign finance-reform bill of last March.
When President Bush signed that bill into law, it was up to the Federal Elections Commission -- to which Mr. Bush had recently appointed a foe of the bill -- to set forth election guidelines under the strictures of the new law. In a 4-1 decision, the commissioners voted for a narrow interpretation of the verb solicit, agreeing that political parties can request donations. The way Sen. McCain portrays it, they just can't do it outright; they must do it with a wink and a nod.
The senator may be right. Some say that the commissioners settled on a politicized interpretation of the law. But that's no reason to throw a tantrum, which is exactly what Mr. McCain did. Continues.

Johnny McLame's gone bonkers. Even granting he's right, why can't someone else's interpretation of the law be just as reasonable? And does he and the other Comrades really think the FEC should send in undercover agents to political party meetings and campaign fund raisers to make sure no one gives a donation ever to politicians? Talk about taking all the fun out of politics!

Bump!

He has threatened to block all Senate nominations until President Bush appoints a reform-friendly commissioner to fill a vacant seat on the FEC. What a fine upstanding American and Senator...do all you can to thwart your president and your country.
Your reform bill was and is a vanity bill it did nothing to stop illegal contributions from foreigners or the selling of the White House bed rooms for political gain and money or rides on AF1 junkets for the same reason or letting a first ladie fly around the world on the tax payers dime...it did absolutely nothing for the disenfranchised military or that matter the good of the country. It was and is a Vanity Bill pure and simple that will have to be argued in the Supreme Court, costing even more money. Youve lost your state McCain and apparently your mind.

McCain's timing will do him in. Little did he know that this ridiculous ruling by the 9th. circuit would point up the desperate need for the President's judges to be confirmed. His announcement that he would not allow a single judge to be voted on is just another of his temper tantrums leaving him the worst for it all.

Love your animation. As an Amazon parrot owner, the feather looks familiar. Are you, perhaps, a parrot owner?

What ever happened to the recall campaign ? (in AZ)

Wisdom abounds:
"McCain's timing will do him in. Little did he know that this ridiculous ruling by the 9th. circuit would point up the desperate need for the President's judges to be confirmed. His announcement that he would not allow a single judge to be voted on is just another of his temper tantrums leaving him the worst for it all" I agree, and think even the most rabid McCain supporters will be angered at his latest attention getting, self-serving stunt, coming as it does, during a perilous time of war. Even McCain backers will sense he's showboating, that it will help the democrats, who must be in hog heaven this morning. Nothing better for them than to have John McCain attacking President Bush, so they don't have to.

Thanks, the clymer, McAinal, doesn't even deserve the title of RINO.
He does not even pretend to be a RINO.
What is amazing, he still has some ardent supporters on Free Republic who claim to be conservative Republicans. They and he are a sick joke on America!

McAnal-- LOL-- I've neer seen that one before.
I didn't know that Little Johnny still had any supporters anywhere, muchless here at FR. They must keep a low profile. Smart on their part-- McCain is a little boy masquerading as a grown man. He's moved from just being vain to being a total embarrASSment.

As I recall..........
Super patriot Arizona Dittomom ceased all recall activities on Sept 11. If I'm mistaken, I'm sure she will let us know.
I hope she'll also let us know if McCain has given any attention to the Arizona fires. At some point in time, you have to hope voters would notice whether their elected officials have stopped giving a rat'sass about constituents.

I have been using McAinal to describe this worthless left wing POS posing as a conservative since he tried to defeat GW in the primaries in 2000.

Wonder if if this did not remove some of the pressure from Daschle..........TWO LOW LIFE SKUNKS!

why can't someone else's interpretation of the law be just as reasonable? To you and I, it can be. Not to this guy. He's all about him. I thought he wanted the politics to STOP, and here he is the first one to draw blood! What a creep.

"Johnny McLame's gone bonkers." John McCain's behavior is so delusional that I question his ability to continue in the Senate.
