HEBRON, West Bank - An explosion Friday night blasted away a large section of the Palestinian municipal compound where 15 armed Palestinians were believed to be hunkered down.
Early today, a second explosion brought down the rest of the building.
''I saw hills of rubble,'' said Mohammed Maswadeh, a Palestinian who lives near the compound. He said his windows were blown out by the blast about 120 yards away. ``There's nothing called the headquarters anymore.'' Continues.

Former Palestinian Cabinet Minister Talal Sidr talks to Israeli soldiers from the besieged regional headquarters of the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank town of Hebron Friday, June 28, 2002. Sidr entered the besieged Palestinian Authority headquarters in the West Bank on Friday to negotiate the surrender of 15 wanted men after a four-day standoff but said he could not find anyone inside.
