Rosie O'Donnell recently told an audience she's feeling the heat for fighting to legalize homosexual adoption in Florida. She was referring, she explained, to a medical association's decision to un-invite her to speak at its convention. "They were afraid of protesters," Miss O'Donnell told her audience. Am I the only one who really doesn't care what this person thinks about anything?

Consider her an imperfect barometer of what might just be happening with some folks on the left. One possible positive fallout of gays being able to adopt is that they will start thinking (politically) like parents, and less like teenagers. I know that my tolerance for hedonism changed markedly after I had kids.

What I find most interesting is that she has been one of the first prominent members of the left to break from the Clinton camp. She gives permission to other liberals to finally wake up and see that Clinton was not doing Monica (or any other woman) a favor when he responded to her thong. There's common ground to be found between liberals and conservatives who believe that the workplace should be free of sexual influences from management.

We may yet witness an awakening of Rosie O'Donnell as she grows up in front of us all. May she take others with her on this journey.

She's just trying to jump-start that white elephant magazine of hers. Forgive the mixed metaphor.

Has Rosie been denounced as a "media whore" yet? Gee, we could have told them that before she snubbed Bubba.
