Rick and Pam Stanley The bravest people we know

Because the 4th of July is near and dear to the publisher’s heart (the country has been celebrating his birthday for many years now), Speakout! believes it is appropriate to salute the bravest people we know. And, without question, Rick and Pam Stanley come first to mind.

As the Libertarian candidate for U. S. Senate, Rick Stanley has probably attracted more statewide press than any previous statewide Libertarian candidate for any office in Colorado. This has not always pleased everyone in the party, but, frankly, the party has never been much of a presence in the state.

While it would probably be a miracle if Stanley defeated the Republican and Democrat candidates, he certainly reminds us often of the importance of our state and federal constitutions and the importance of defending them! And, he does so with more than just lip service. In fact, Stanley appears to be ready, willing and able to go to jail to defend our constitution, if that is even necessary in a state where office holders (judges) supposedly take an oath to protect and defend our constitutions (why aren’t more judges protecting our constitution – why should Stanley have to do it)? Stanley did the brave deed of challenging Denver King (oops, we mean Mayor) Wellington Webb’s unconstitutional city by intentionally strapping on a loaded gun at a Bill of Rights rally, in defiance of Denver’s illegal and unconstitutional gun law prohibiting such. According to Stanley, “You don’t think I’m going to allow your silly little law to interfere with the constitution, do you?” he said he told Denver officials. And, since being carted away to jail and being wrongfully convicted of doing that dastardly deed in a Denver Kangaroo Court, Stanley has been on a mission that he expects to win at the Supreme Court. Stanley understands that, as of today, our constitutions are basically meaningless. He understands that he could wrongfully end up serving time in jail for defending our constitutions.

And, now facing years of appeals in order to defend our constitutions for us, he has added a fight with the Internal Revenue Service to boot, claiming that he will no longer file federal tax returns for “an illegal” tax. Over the years, Speakout! has researched the income tax and is not convinced that it was legally constituted for all Americans (only for federal employees). We are also not convinced that it was legally constituted for any Americans, because there is serious doubt that it was, in fact, passed by three-quarters of the states (at the time) ratifying it. We are convinced that Americans can “voluntarily” be taxed, but the IRS term of voluntary compliance is bogus and contradictory. Which one is it – voluntary or compliant?

While Stanley could go to jail for either the bogus Denver law or the bogus IRS law, his wife takes all of this in stride and stands behind him. Somebody said, “Behind every man is a good woman.” Pam Stanley is incredible! The Stanley’s deserve our support and thanks! www.stanley2002.org

the bravest people we know..., Rick and Pam Stanley...

So this guy's "brave" because he doesn't pay his taxes?

That must mean that Al Capone was the bravest man in the history of the U.S.A.

Over the years, I've researched and come to the conclusion that all the real estate in the River Oaks neighborhood of Houston, TX, is actually MINE. So I'm expecting all these people to clear out, now.

Oh, and I've researched and come to the conclusion that paying for groceries, gasoline, and Texas State Lottery tickets does NOT apply to me, only to left-handed blonde people surnamed "Wilson."

I'm going in for more research now, and I'll tell you what I find.

Man, this being a law unto yourself is FABULOUS! Who the heck neeeds decades of Federal court decisions, etc., when this research thing tells you everything you ever wanted to know?

Care to post your research? It would be interesting.

People should be free to pack heat in public where ever they are without fear of retribution from the state. I've been to places where open-carry is allowed. There were no wild-west shootouts or anything of the sort. In fact, people were actually quite polite.

>>>As the Libertarian candidate for U. S. Senate, Rick Stanley has probably attracted more statewide press than any previous statewide Libertarian candidate for any office in Colorado.

No doubt about it. I think anyone who would publically call for a US Senator to be hung --- in this case Sen.Wayne Allard, for his vote favoring the Patriot Act --- probably would get that person, a lot of publicity and press.

The truth is Rick Stanley is just another political malcontent, who represents a philosophy, which is supported by a a tiny portion of the voting electorate. Stanley is a dangerous extremist, who thumbs his nose at authority and has no respect for opinions, values and beliefs that differ from his own.

Stanley's ultimate political objective, is to pull enough votes away from Sen.Allard, in the hopes of seeing his political cousin, the liberal Tom Strickland, get elected as the next Senator from Colorado. Frankly, I don't see a victory for the lobbyist Strickland in the cards, but I nonetheless will fight to make sure it doesn't happen.

I'm with you. The word "brave" should be a bit more clear nowadays.

No, the definition isn't "made a bunch of stink about some obscure tin-foil hat rallying points that 99.98% of the rest of the country ignores completely."

As far as I can see the only thing this guy's got going from him is a toothsome wife.

Why he'd wanna be locked away with "Tiny" and the gang for several years instead of comin' home every evenin' to THAT fox, I'LL never know.

Have you seen her pic? With heat buffers like that she don't need no steenkin' flamesuit.

You've obviously spent more time ogling photos of Pam Stanley than you've spent researching tax law, that's for sure.

OK maybe "hung" is a little strong. How about we just beat the crap out of politicians who sign unconstitutional legislation without reading (or even having their staff read) the damn bill. Will you meet me half way and agree they should receive severe corporal punishment or worse?

I'm not kidding when I say the bill was not read.
