Today is FReeper Friday and we would like to honor and salute the Founder of Free Republic.
The FReeper USO Canteen receives many emails from our troops and also from FReepers that are themselves Veterans that have continued to lurk at FR and the FReeper USO Canteen.
They speak of their gratitude to have the finest place online to meet with others , read their thoughts and be supported by people that truly care about their service to our country.
And we agree!
I would like you to meet Jim Robinson, Founder of Free Republic, a Navy Veteran and a man of Honor
The USO Canteen would like to honor Veteran Jim Robinson for FReeper Friday.
Besides being the Founder of Free Republic
He is also a Viet Nam Vet
and a member of the Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club.
If it were not for him, we would not be here today.
Jim also "practices what he preaches"
by getting out and making a difference.
Jim: Thank You for your past and
continuing service to our country
Thank You for providing a home for the USO Canteen.

The great intangible of America's wars beyond logistics, beyond strategy, beyond wonder weapons and Generals, is the spiritual force of its fighting men and women - and that is the force that the USO so serves.

On behalf of TF Rakkasan and myself let me thank you for your letter, your kind thoughts and most important you support. Your desire to send care packages to the soldiers of TF Rakkasan is wonderful in itself. We are lucky here because we have had the support of you great Americans every since we got here. As for the packages we will be deploying home soon after 7 months and I am afraid your packages would get lost in the system somewhere, but please know your letter and thoughts are more important to us than a package and for that we can't thank you enough!
Sincerely,
R. Herman

Today's feeble attempt at humor:
A missionary couple was captured by some decidedly unfriendly natives,
tied together with a long piece of leather and left dangling over a large
cliff. That evening, the natives danced and chanted around the campfire
and as each member passed the leather strap holding the unfortunate
missionaries, he gave it a whack with a stick, causing it to weaken a bit
more. As the chanting grew louder and louder, the husband looked at his
wife romantically and said, "Listen darling. They're fraying our thong!"
