[history]
I was flipping through the latest issue of Newsweek (the one with an embattled Martha Stewart on the cover) and I came upon the following full-page ad on page 15.
At first glance I assumed it was a PETA ad but after reading it I realized it was an anti-PETA ad! Needless to say I was shocked considering the medium.
TOPICS: Culture/Society; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: animalrights; ecoterrorism; newsweek; peta

Here is a link to the orginazation that ran the ad:
www.consumerfreedom.comThey have a great website.
(I am in no way affiliated with this organization. I posted the link purely out of interest to other FReepers.)

Rare kudos to Newsweek for having the cajones to run such an advertisement.Seems like a strange place to run an ad aimed at conservatives. (Maybe they're trying to attract liberals and "moderates" to their site?)

I certainly disagrre with a lot of PETA issues, but they did put a GOOD looking nekkid PETA chick in a cage in Downtown dallas a few weeks ago. She was nekkid but painted with tiger stripes. So if they could just drop their agenda and continue with the tiger chix that would be very cool.

Has PETA been added to the list of terrorist organizations yet? If not, their declaration about blowing up all those buildings and sites ought to be more than sufficient for adding them to the list alongside Al Quada, Arafat, and so on.

You know, it seems the "silent majority" is starting to fight back. About time. Trent Lott should learn from these folks.

Depends... Who was on top? ;-)

,,, the quote from Bruce Friedrich on that magazine cover would lead me to believe he endorses terrorism. He doesn't seem to be advocating PETA as an organisation of peace.

but they did put a GOOD looking nekkid PETA chick in a cage in Downtown dallas a few weeks ago.I've seen some of those models. Yep, PETA at least pics the few that won't make me lose my lunch by seeing them in the buff (unlike, I'm certain, most PETA members).

You just thought that was hair painted on her back. :)

If not, their declaration about blowing up all those buildings and sites ought to be more than sufficient for adding them to the list alongside Al Quada, Arafat, and so on. That's the beauty about Newsweek running this ad! Newsweek is considered a "mainstream, unbiased" news source (yeah, right) that is nonetheless read by many people --people who will start seeing these people for what they are: domestic terrorists.

You know, it seems the "silent majority" is starting to fight back. About time. Trent Lott should learn from these folks. Here in Colorado both of our major daily papers (Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News) ran editorials blaming the Earth First! and Sierra Club crowd (and the rest of the "green on the outside, red on the inside" watermelons) for the current mess we are in with regard to the fires that are burning out of control. People are starting to get fed up. It is only a matter of time before these idiots are marginalized and ridiculed by not just conservatives, but the apolitical population as a whole.

In the immortal words of Ted Nugent:
I have nothing against vegetarians... all I eat are vegetarians! Except for the occasional mountain lion steak.
LOL!

Hey, they sell shirts of those ads! I'm buying the Greenpeace one :)
btw, PETA does have lots and lots of very attractive, though tragically dumb or misguided, young women. Even the hot ones get blinded by the 'svae the puppies' mentality.

Peta girls are fun...as long as you aren't arguing animal policy with them and remember not to order meat :)

Wearing fur naked is something most of the PETA models have never tried, i bet.
