Creep Me Out! (NEA robot alert)
Fox News

Bob Chase, the President of the National Education Association (NEA), was just on Fox remarking on today's US Supreme Court decision that tax-paid vouchers to send kids to private schools are constitutional.
Want a chill? Watch the rebroadcast of this interview. Then get a copy of the 1954 movie, "1984," and watch Edmond O'Brien's performance as Winston Smith toward the end of the movie, where he -- brainwashed, utterly broken, and robot-like -- breaks into tears over his love of Big Brother. Mr. Chase just did a scary such recreation. He looked drugged and broken and gave a long monologue about how evil vouchers are and how wonderful the NEA is, and didn't stop to take a breath. The interviewer kept trying to politely ask him questions and he'd have none of it. Just the same programmed, glaze-eyed, robotic, endless, single sentence that went on and on and on and was oblivious to any questions or other opinions.
And THIS is what our kids are being force-fed in the disaster area they call "public education." We should be able to use tax money to pay for therapy for our kids after having been so tormented.
Final question: is there any qualitative difference between child sexual abuse and child mental abuse such as this?

Stepford unionists tend to look like that.

I attended my niece's sixth grade graduation last week. Whew, these kids are being brainwashed! There's no other word for it.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I am sick of all these "graduations" kids have today. By the time they graduate high school, they have already graduated a half dozen times.
Pre-school graduation, Kindergarten graduation, 3rd grade graduation, etc...
I find it to be a bunch of feel good, self-esteem building NONSENSE.
And whats worse is the soccer moms who beam with pride in describing how wonderful it was to see her child graduate from kidergarten. Like thats an actual accomplishment worthy of praise and celebration.

Not to mention that the producers of caps and gowns were probably behind these ceremonies as well.

Wait'll they start bringing home brochures for their kindergarten class ring...
To: Phantom Lord
In a way I think graduations are a way of saying good-bye to the past. It's sortof like you or I working somewhere for five years, then leaving. There's a little bit of separation anxiety that graduations make a little easier for kids. Instead of focusing on lost friendships and kids you'll never see again, there's empahasis on growth and their accomplishments.
I understand your comments and find myself agreeing with them in part.
To: general_re
They already have 'kindergarten class rings'. Though I suspect you knew that.
To: DoughtyOne
As pointed out by general_re, the 'kindergarten class rings' are another bit of nonsense.
And how long before, it it hasnt happened yet, the children of 'less fortunate' parents get their ring for "free".
To: Phantom Lord
OMG, I was kidding. You're kidding too, right?
Seriously, I was joking - they don't really have that, do they?
To: pabianice
It's really hard to remember those talking points. Questions would have confused him.
To: Phantom Lord
No I didn't know that, but any parent who'd buy into that nonsense has nobody to blame but themselves.
To: general_re
I'm not kidding.
To: Phantom Lord
That's ridiculous. I've gotta stop joking about stuff like that...
To: general_re
Reality is often far stranger then fiction. One of the reasons
The Onion is so successful and why a lot of people fall for it and think their stories are real.
To: pabianice
I need to know about the original "1984" film, I haven't been able to find it since the late 70's - I understand there is some legal problem behind the copyright owners.
Do you have a copy of it or know where to get one?
Thanks!
