9th Court Ruling on Pledge is Great for Us.
6/26/2002 | big ern

I think this ruling is great because it gives us something to hammer away at the left with going into the election. It is a perfect example of why the loser left needs to be defeated.

The Senate needs to be flipped back to GOP control so we can get better judges confirmed.

Think of the campaigning possibilities that can be found in this ruling. Hopefully Bush and the GOP are awake enough to pick up on this.

I hope you read this before responding to the title.

I disagree. In any battle, it's easier to hold ground, than to re-take lost ground.

Perhaps this ruling is a sign from God that this nation has crossed line.

I agree. It's a blessing in disguise.

Even if the USSC doesn't overturn this ruling, the next step is a push for a constitutional amendment (some politician, whether he or she cares about the ruling or not will be out in front of the issue). I can't wait to see those who speak out against the amendment. They will be showing everyone who they truly are, even though we who pay attention have known about them for years.

Has anyone considered that our MONEY is now unconstitutional.

My Quarters says "In God We Trust."

Stupidity on parade. This will be overturned by the supremes. The reference to "God" does not promote a specific religion. Have these high and mighty leftists considered the references to God in the founding documents? Apparently they know better than every one, including Madison, Jefferson, etc., etc.

In battle some soldiers fall while your winning ground. That's how I take it. A single act of courage by a soldier who then is killed can spur others to join the fight. That is how I look at this.

I can assure you this will be used in the election. "Your party appoints judges who think the Pledge of Allegience is Unconstitutional."

This is going to be delicious if used properly.

This IS a great opportunity for the right to take it to the streets to mount a whole campaign against the ACLU, to oust these judges, to make it the simple issue. Now call the TV stations & maybe a protest or two. It's a wiiner against the left.

You're right. This is a simple issue for voters to understand, even in a non-religious state such as Washington where I live.

Only problem is that the Judge who wrote the opinion was appointed by Nixon, a Republican. The Judge who agreed w/ him is a Carter appointee

Heck, even the "dissenting" Judge, who was appinted by Bush I agreed that the "under God" language was violative of the establishment clause, but called it "de minimis".

Nixon appointed a lot of bad judges. A certain Chief Justice comes to mind.

Agreed - but don't confuse the Bushies with the dumb Republicans. In order to get elected you have to run as a socialist (democrat) or as a Republican.

The Bushies decided to run as Republicans because there was an opening in that party. You run as a third party or independent and you will lose, period. The Bushies know that.

Bush is a third party candidate running as a Republican. Doesn't make him a bad guy just helps explain why he isn't as politically dumb as the average inept Republican.

Also explains why Republicans get confused over ----"Islam is a peaceful religion, and amnesty for illegal aliens is a good thing. -Tom

Potentially, this can be a good thing, if it is played properly.

If I were running the GOP, I'd use this as the perfect way to demonstrate why gwb's judges are far more mainstream than the leftists that Chuckie Schumer and Pat Leaky pants want to appoint. Real Americans do not support this decision and never will. If about 80% of America is not the mainstream I don't know what is.

The point needs to be made over and over again that the ONLY time federal judges/justices have any kind of accountability is when they are appointed. Only then can the be considered even remotely accountable. But since the left is anti-democratic (see how they treated Ralph Nader) they are striving to remove the only time when judges have report (though indirectly) to the people.

All that said, I'm not too hopeful that the Senate Republicans will point this out :( Why doesn't Ann Coulter run for Senate?

You think some moderator is going to dump this before reading past the headline?

It has happened to me. I posted an article under vanity which I wrote (it was a collection of posts made on another thread in which none of those posts were deleted.). I asked the moderator why he deleted the article and I explained to him that the article contained nothing that hasn't already been said and not been deleted. His response was " post it to a thread". It was clear to me that it was the headline that got the article deleted and that he didn't read the rest of the post until after I explained it to him. That happened two months ago.

You are correct. This will be the issue for the 2002 elections. Maybe now some couch potatoes will get out and actually participate in the elections. Thank you, 9th Circuit Court of Appeals!!

American's need to see that the democratic party's base hates America and Christians and Jews and defend islamic terrorists. That's the real democratic party. They are doomed.
