Chaoyang, China -- In greater numbers than ever, China's villagers are using inexpensive prenatal scans and then abortion to prevent the birth of unwanted daughters and to ensure that they will bear a son, recent studies and census data show.

These people have been committing infanticide for thousands of years. The only thing new about this is that they now know if it's a girl BEFORE it is born. The murdering of innocent baby girls continues just as before.

Where's the NOW gang?

Where's the NOW gang? Shaking down corporations ala Jesse Jackson no doubt. Complaining about genocide of the female gender in a left wing Communist country wouldn't be very sisterly of them. Or profitable either.

According to the Chinese law, it is illegal for doctors or hospitals to do the gender exminations of unborn babies for pregnant women.

Too bad Hillary wasn't Chinesse

This is also becoming a big problem in South Korea---concerned individuals there are talking about a "girl infant holocaust." Sexually imbalanced societies are not healthy societies. Abortion doesn't just kill babies: it slowly destroys the social fabric as well.

One too many "s" butt head. Chinesse=Chinese

Ya know, if it wasn't for way NOW lined up with the Rapist-in-Chief during the Willie and Monica episode, you'd really expect them to be in a complete moral tizzy on this one.
I mean think about it, not only is China an "abortion-friendly" country, they actually mandate it, so ya figger the NOW gang would think that was just great! But then those wacky Chinese people go and abort the WRONG BABIES! Now if was little boychildren getting whacked, you wouldn't expect it to even register with NOW, but they are actually choosing to abort FEMALE children!
Wow, what an ethical dilema for a Liberal! And the worst part is that they can't even express an opinion on any part of it without being "unfairly judgemental" about a non-Western culture....tsk tsk </alligator tears>

Confucious say,"people who only have sons eventually have no sons or daughters either!"

Gosh, N.O.W. sure is silent on this one. They are silent on the slavery muslim females have to endure as well. Hmmmm. The only place their megaphone works is in Western nations, where women are the most free. Could it be that women's rights is not their true agenda? Sure does seem that way, doesn't it???

In another 10 or 15 years, China's may very well go through a revolution that'll make the "Great Leap Forward" look like a picnic. The Chinese government will very likely end up running massive public works projects that will both figuratively and, I suspect, literally consume the extra males. But whether that'll be enough to overcome social dissent is questionable. A lack of material goods is one thing. But a lack of the basic human need for companionship with the opposite sex is something that no government can ameliorate.

The murdering of innocent baby girls continues just as before. Not quite. The insensitivity to infanticide is the same but the incentive is much greater. In the old days, large families were the norm and girls could be sold.

In the towns and villages of Chaoyang County in eastern Guangdong, the gap is bigger still. In 2000, parts of Guangdong showed an average sex ratio as high as 144 boys for every 100 girls, or about three boys for every two girls, according to a report by the official New China News Agency. This is not a happy trend. From 100 girls to 111 boys to the numbers above. Who will have the future children?
So sad. Take the ultrasounds away from them!
