June 26, 2002 -- ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Alleged 20th hijacker Zacarias Moussaoui accused a federal judge of "preparing me for the gas chamber" during a courtroom tiff that was sparked by his refusal to say how he's pleading.
"This is an outrageous prosecution . . . This is a parody," the accused terrorist told Judge Leonie Brinkema.

After much consideration I feel as if the defendant in this trial should have gotten just exactly what he asked for. A guilty plea and then 4 death sentances quick with no chance for the hug a thug crowd to react.
After he said, "You are undermining me all the time. You are just preparing me for the gas chamber." She should have politely smiled and said "No sir you just did that yourself".
The lawyers will be the only ones coming out aghead on this one. They don't even have to defend the goon. Just set back and collect the checks.

And this would be exactly why we need military tribunals to oversee these cases instead of civillian courts... They'll just make a circus out of every time. Imagine if we had 20 other terrorists on trial here right now.

I was thinking of al Furqa, but most of the al Furqa folks in Colorado are elsewhere--some in prison, some in other al Furqa compounds in the US.
