"I love the title. I love the book. I'm going to predict number one best-seller soon," Fox News Channel star Sean Hannity tonight told Ann Coulter, author of "Slander: Liberal Lies About The American Right."
"You're the nicest person off the air," Hannity's liberal co-host, Alan Colmes, told the author. But in the book, "You say the craziest things," he complained.
Colmes had a lot of trouble trying to back up his claim, though. He referred to Coulter's observation that leftists mock the appearance of women they don't like (such as Katherine Harris, Paula Jones, etc.), but conservatives rarely mock the looks of Madeleine Albright, Chelsea Clinton, etc.
Colmes claimed that former California Gov. Pete Wilson did just that by saying he wouldn't want to spend 10 days on an island with Hillary Clinton. But as Coulter pointed out, that remark says nothing about Hillary's looks. Coulter said she wouldn't want to spend 10 days with Hillary either.
"Both sides don't do it. We actually have something to say," the author asserted.
"Liberals are really a party that is the party of demonization," Hannity noted.
Cat-Fight Alert
He reminded Coulter, "You're going to have a battle with Katie Couric tomorrow."
A discussion of who's the most biased on the TV "news" programs ended with the conclusion that there are too many choices.
"I highly recommend this book," Hannity concluded.
Even Colmes agreed. "It's very entertaining. You should know what the enemy's thinking," the liberal said, "so you should get the book."
