MANAMA, June 25 (AFP) - Bahrain on Tuesday welcomed US President George W. Bush's outline of his vision for a settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, saying it would contribute to peace efforts in the region.

A statement from the foreign ministry added that "the kingdom of Bahrain expresses its support for all efforts aimed at establishing an equitable and lasting peace in the Middle East."

At the same time, it expressed its willingness to contribute in coordination with the concerned parties.

Bush outlined Monday a blueprint that would lead to the eventual creation of a Palestinian state, living in peace alongside Israel.

As a condition for US support, he called for widespread reforms in the Palestinian Authority and the election of a new Palestinian leadership.
