>Is FR going to continue to be an resource for Conservatism, Or is FR merely going to devolve into being a chat group for people whose beliefs manage to momentarily coincide with Conservatism.

Good question!

And the recent past here on FR puts an interesting light on a big issue from the past:

When Klinton was in office, a lot of people looked around the internet and asked, "How come more democrats don't speak up against Klinton?!"

It's possible democrats experienced something similar to what conservatives are currently experiencing. Here in our very visible forum -- where an outsider might look to see how conservatives react to Bush -- just about everyone who attempts to speak objectively about the sitting prez simply gets "disappeared."

You expect such stuff from the 'rats. They don't believe in principles, just expediency. It's very unsettling to see such activity from "conservatives"...

I observed in an email that FR, lately, is like a teen slasher movie -- every day, one or two more of us is gone....

I'm skimming a couple of hundreds of relplies, and if somebody has answered this question already....sorry...

Why is it that so many of these forums seem to be obsessed with FR?

Good points. Actually excellent points to be honest with you.

When Klinto went bye it was a victory. But there seems to be a general sense of "where do we go from here" and you cant tackle it by simply deleting articles that are critical of Bush or banning people. That needs to be underlined.

I guess my bottom line point is

A)if were going to have "poof yer gone" rules, then they need to be spelled out.

B) This site needs to remain open to conservative ideas. Everyone can tell a nut or a liberal when they read one, so it doesnt take long for them to take a hike.

But we need to keep this site open as a resource for conservatism and ideas that normally wouldnt break the mainstream left media - thats our strength, theres alot of important issues out there, start censoring - thats a bad gig.

Look up at the top of this thread and you should see a list of stuff that I don't want posted here on FR. Those who keep posting that crap get banned. Gee, as many times as some of you boys have been banned, you'd think you could figure out what causes it. How many times you been banned now?

your #211 is just plain wrong! There was a thread about President Bush two or three weeks ago and there were quite a few people complaining about the President...Jim Robinson not only saw the thread...but when someone pointed out what some of the people were saying...Jim Robinson said that he wasn't concerned with other people's opinions of President Bush or something to that effect...I took it to mean that he knew how he felt about the President and that the rest had their own opinions.

I strongly suspect that if W was found to have taken campaign contributions from the Chinese, got a BJ while discussing military action with a congressman, committed perjury, groped a campaign worker on the day of her husband's suicide, was credibly accused of rape, or blatently ignored laws upon which he strongly campaigned, he'd get a bit of flak from this site.

I think W has yet to be caught in a lie.

If you think that Jim doesn't allow disagreement with Bush, then I would suggest that you've been reading the wrong threads. I have seen many passionately charged discussions where there was a lot of disagreement with Bush's policies on some matter or other. It seems to me that only when a poster gets abusive or rabidly anti-Bush do the posts get pulled.
