Emerson is good but Yossef Bodansky's book "Bin Laden: The Man Who Declared War on America" ties it all together. I highly recommend it.

Agreed...at least in a specialized position...He knows his stuff with great modern historical knowledge.

I think Emerson was mostly in media Hades or Limbo.

He'd been banned from NPR (aka National Palestinian, er, Public Radio) because the NPR
big-wigs were hit with too many complaints from Islamic advocacy groups.

Emerson also had a media mis-step when he (I can't recall the exact words)
said his opinion was that the bombing of the Murrah Building in OKC was likely the
work of some Islamic group.
Emerson (and virtually everyone to the right of Hillary Clinton) got tarred with
charges of bigotry and facism after Timothy McVeigh came to light...but now...
with folks like Asst. Sec. of Defense Wolfowitz saying that there might have been
such a connection...Emerson's stock has been rising.

He also has a book out "Jihad In America" (IIRC). It was doing brisk business over
at amazon.com a few months ago.

If you are interested and have the connection...you MIGHT be able to hear Emerson's
interview at www.newstalk870.com at either 8 or 9 PM Pacific Time...
two of Prager's three hours get replayed at that time, IIRC. (so it's a "maybe"
on whether Emerson's interview gets replayed).
