A New Drug Demographic: Supermoms

A NEW DRUG DEMOGRAPHIC: SUPERMOMS

Drug specialists are reporting an unsettling trend of late: the growing ranks of women who are selling and abusing methamphetamines. And they are not just any women. According to the people who counsel these abusers, a startling number of them are middle-class working moms who are trying to top off their energy so they can make it through a working mom's day.

They are women like 43-year-old Debra Breuklander, a divorced nurse from Clive, Iowa, who found herself raising three children on her own in a $150,000 home she could no longer afford. Determined to stay in that house, and to continue to look like Supermom to anyone who might be watching, she began to sell and to use "meth," a hyperstimulant said to produce a euphoric high.

"The house, the kids, the cars, the groceries, the flower beds - I thought I had to be perfect at all of it," said Ms. Breuklander, who is now serving a 35-year sentence at the Iowa Correctional Institute in Mitchellville for drug dealing. "My home was immaculate. I looked fine. I fooled everyone."

A real quick thank you to the Femi-Nazis out there.

Thank you for ruining women's lives.
Thank you for ruining the family structure.

Oh, and a great, big thank you to the imperial, federal government for taxing us so much that we can barely survive on one income...

[exasperated sigh]

Indeed. I believe that part of the original feminist screed was that the poor housewives who had such dull, empty lives would get hooked on pills of one sort or another. They could take meth to clean the house and then tranks to calm down. Our patriarchal society made them do this.

If only women were allowed to work outside the home, then they wouldn't have such dull, empty lives and they wouldn't need drugs to get through the day.

Women are victims. All the time. No matter what.

ClearCase_guy - your observations are right - I don't work outside the home and you wouldn't believe how many women ask me if I'm bored........ Hell no I'm not bored! I love not working - I work my butt off taking care of everyone - ok, I spend a lot of time here, but that is because I'm so darn good at what I do that I can accomplish a lot in little time........;^)

But, my job is taking care of my family and home - and I love my job.......
