Palestinians accused Israel of assassinating a top Hamas military leader and five other Palestinians Monday morning by attack helicopters that fired missiles at two vehicles in the southern Gaza Strip, media reports said.
Ten people were wounded in the attack, including a number of children, doctors at a hospital in Rafiah, citing rescue workers, said.
Israeli media reports, quoting Palestinians, said one of the targets of Monday's attack was Yasser Rizek, a Hamas military leader involved in several recent attempts to send suicide bombers to attack Israel.
"A number of injured people are on the way to the hospital. We don't have the identities of the people killed," said Dr. Ali Musa Rafah.
The IDF had no immediate comment.
Witnesses saw two Apache helicopters fire four missiles at the vehicles in the Jnaineh neighborhood east of Rafiah.
"The car was going around a sand barrier when Israeli helicopters fired four missiles against the car. Fire broke out and one body flew out of the car," said Hisham Muhammed Ali, a nurse who was on his way to work at the hospital.
The move came as the IDF widened its grip on Palestinian cities in the West Bank as part of Operation "Determined Way," which is aimed at cracking down on terror, by arresting suspects and confiscating weapons.

BTW.....are all Palestinians children? According to thePallie spokesterrorists, it seems that's all the Israeli's kill.
Cold but true.
Well they did say "a number of children", but neglected the number.
two? one ? or maybe a zero number ?
GAZA STRIP, June 24 (AFP) - Two senior Hamas militants were among six people killed Monday in Israeli helicopter missile attacks, an official of the radical Islamic movement told AFP.
Yasser Rizk, 29, and Amir Koffa, 28, were among those killed when Israeli helicopters fired missiles at two cars in the southern Gaza Strip, near the border town of Rafah, the official who declined to be identified said.
He said that Rizk had been "wounded" in undetermined circumstances and was being rushed to hospital by two of his brothers, Bassam and Youssef, when Israeli helicopters fired at their car, killing all three.
Koffa was riding in the other car, a taxi, and was killed along with driver Sami Omar, 29, and passenger Madhat Jurani, 17.
The director of the Rafah hospital, Ali Mussa, confirmed the identity of the six people killed in the raid, which Palestinian sources called the latest in the series of "targetted killings" of militants by Israel.
The army refused to comment on the incident.
I cannot for the life of me figure out why they don't do that. Can we pick these things up on satellite and pass them the coordinates?
We're all targets in this war and like good soldiers we should be eager to shoot back.
I know I'd buy a ticket. Every day. Imagine being the guy to take out Arafat. I'm sure they could sell a couple of million tickets every day.
Less than ten... if the source had taken his shoes off he might have said 20.

Remember: Baby milk factory == innocent Palestinian children
