Seems like it would at least destroy all of the fuel ahead of the leading edge. I still think it is a good idea, but I am not a Daisycutter expert, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Why don't they use those new cave busting bombs that suck the oxygen out. That would kill parts of the fire, maybe
Another excellent idea. How about if we develop a Halon bomb for these situations? (Halon is a gas that eliminates oxygen.)
That red dust from the tanker planes seems so useless.

The writer left out "falling into the hands of an angry God." Today would be a good day to repent. We of course have to remember that Repentance is not up for grabs any time one wants it; that would put man in control. God gives it (Ac 5:31; 2Ti 2:25) when one seeks Him with a whole heart, not a divided heart, and puts the Lord first, not trying to add Him in with one's other gods of Mammon, Hedonism, Greed, Sex, Materialism and the like. That's amazing. I just did a Mapquest check for the mileage from Slow Lo to Tucson and it said it was 190.96 miles. I recall reading about the big Tillamook Burn forest fire in Oregon in 1933 which had ash falling 500 miles out to sea. It was comprised of 4 fires, the first in 1933, and then 6 years apart in what was called "The 6 years jinx" -- 1939, 1945 and 1951. Here are the stats:

Does anyone know how that compares in size with what is happening in the West now?

Also, the story of the colorado ranger-womans' 'love letter' starting a fire seems awfully contrived, begging the question: Is she a decoy FEMA is using to cover up public awareness of an investigation that these fires are potential terrorist activity?
One of my thoughts after 9-11 was that terrorism needs no intricate methodology if you are willing to sacrifice some pizzazz - you could wreak havoc with simple arson or random urban murder for a very long time before being stopped.
Question Sunday on CSPAN Wash. Journal was "Are the terrorist warnings working? How should they be different?"
One caller, a 'simple-folk' kinda guy, made an excellent case for the 'lack of effect or overvalue of effect' of the warnings compared to the actual risk or cost of a successful attack-
"The keyword is TERROR here"
"You can't stop crazy people, whats gunna happen is gunna happen."
So yes, I do think America needs educating on how to emotionally cope with the warnings, and I do think the Media are forced to take on a bedside manner of paranoia with the public because they do not know how to act otherwise without appearing to downplay the seriousness of the WOT.

These fires are very scary. I used to live in Malibu, Ca. and we had to evacuate three times because of fires.My heart pounds now hard just remembering how it felt, watching the choppers and other planes over head and the sky so black in the daytime it was the same as night time.Tall flames so close to our home.whew..very scary.
