Pray for Bush Day 646 & the end of Abortion

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." --Matthew 19:14

Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank You for a lovely Sunday where we were able to gather together with brothers and sisters in Christ in fellowship and worship. I thank You for the message which was spoken from Your Word this morning in my church, and for all of the words from Scripture which were expounded upon in congregations across the world. Lord, Your Word says that it will not return void but will be effective wherever it is heard. Lord, utilize that word to change the hearts and minds of men and women in America and around the world and to conform them more and more to the image of Your precious Son. Help them to know truth through the speaking of Your word, and to stand firm in the power of Your might against all of the wiles of the devil. And, bring revival to this country through the power of Your Spirit.

Lord, I lift up to You President Bush today and ask that this Sunday would be a day of physical and spiritual refreshment for him and Laura. Lord, protect them from every form of harm and guide them in the path you would have them to go. Give our President wisdom that he may follow You and a will to do good all of the days of his life. Lord, help him to be courageous in his stand against the evils of our days and to not back away from confronting evil wherever it exists. And confound his enemies, and the enemies of this nation, which would destroy this land from both without and from within.

Father, I pray regarding the issue of abortion in our country. Women are lied to and have been lied to for so many years regarding the existence of actual human life in their wombs, to where they will enter a clinic and kill their own child thinking they are just having a medical procedure and not destroying life. Father, move in the hearts of all women who may be considering abortion and show them that what they carry is a life and should be protected. And, move in the hearts of those who have had abortions and show them that you love them in spite of their past and that you can help them to avoid being in such a situation ever again. Create in this nation a heart that values life for the unborn as well as the born, and use the newfound will of the nation for life to bring about an end to abortion in our country. Our nation has sinned against you much. We ask for your forgiveness and for your cleansing power to remove the stains of blood which saturate our land. Thank You Lord for loving us and for the grace you have given such an undeserving nation as ours. For it is in the precious and holy name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that I pray these things, Amen.

Mighty God, Everlasting Father,

Hear our prayers this day, Great God, as we come to You on behalf of our nation and its leaders. You are the One who keeps Your covenant and loving kindness with those who love You and with those who obey Your commandments. We have sinned and committed iniquity; we have been wicked and have rebelled, even turning away from Your commandments and from Your judgments. To You alone belong mercy and forgiveness, even though we have rebelled against You. We have not obeyed Your voice to walk in Your laws, which You set before us. We ask You to forgive us of the sins of this nation and set us on a right course once again. Send forth Your Holy Spirit to revive us, Father, that we may walk in a manner worthy of You, our God.

Father, we commit to You the unborn children of this nation who are presently in the wombs of their mothers. Thank You for the precious gifts of life You have created. We plead with You to help us protect these lives. We pray that You would cover these precious babies with Your love and that You would bless these children with a supernatural awareness of You and your presence. Create in these mothers and fathers a love for their baby that will overcome any desires of the devil to convince them to abort. Dispel the lies of Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and the other groups that make their living from killing Your precious children. Continue to move us away from the culture of death in this nation, Mighty God. Let the word, "Choice" become a bitter and disgusting term that nauseates Americans. Let those who defend the murdering of the unborn become entangled in their own devises. Convict their hearts, Father, to relinquish the hold that satan has upon their minds, and to be obedient to Your truths and Your laws. Help them to know You as their Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer.

May Your loving arms surround our President today Father. Bless him with rest and renewal. Bless him with time alone with You. Bless him through his loving wife and family. Guide him in all his decisions and strengthen his desire to please you. Let his trust, his confidence, and his hope be in You. We ask that You would give him wise counsel regarding Your will for Israel. Let his decisions be guided and directed solely by You.

Father, You have called us to live in the light of Your truths and to carry that light with us. Let our light not be hidden under baskets but brought forth so that it shines before all people, that praise and glory may be brought to You, our Father in heaven. This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
