Over 300 FBI and CIA Operatives Arrive in Pakistan
Karachi (Azzam)
Over the last week more than 300 FBI and CIA agents have secretly arrived in Pakistan. Sources state that this influx of US agents into Pakistan is as a result of a recent US Government report stating that it feared Al-Qaida has chosen Pakistan to reorganize itself. This report then goes on to say that Al-Qaida has shifted large amounts of ammunition into Pakistan to carry out more attacks on US interests in there.
High level meetings between top ranking CIA agents and Pakistani Intelligence officers have occurred recently resulting in arrests in Karachi over the past 3 days. These arrests have been kept a secret so as to not infuriate Pakistani public opinion. Within these meetings Pakistani officials gave the FBI and CIA agents a free hand to do as they please in tracking down Al-Qaida operatives all over Pakistan. In an attempt to frighten supporters of Al- Qaida and the Taliban the FBI have been spreading news that they have all kinds of sophisticated surveillance equipment and are able to hear all. We remind them and the Muslims that it is only Allah, Lord of The Worlds, who hears and knows everything, and in Allah let the Believers put their trust.

That sentence is the key. Translation: we're printing this story (possibly containing some small kernel of truth) to inflame Pakistani public opinion.
Some secret.
Considered the news source, this is VERY unlikely to be true. And that is good. The FBI, and even CIA, simply does not have sufficient staff fluent in Urdu and other relevant languages to be adding hundreds of agents to our brave men (and women?) already in Pakistan. The linguistically useless gumshoes would just be tripping over each other while locally hired translators spilled the beans to Al Quaeda.
Translation: We'll handle this, thank you, lest you blow it for us like you did in Afghanisthan.
Every single telephone / wireless conversation in Pakistan is monitored and translated. One such intercepted conversation between the Dirty Bomber, Lt General Hameed Gul and Lt General Ahsanul Haq led to the arrest of Jose Padilla and the resignation of the Pakistani Foreign Minister Abdul Sattar.
"Any truth in this, or just propaganda and disinformation ?"
It is fabricated nonsense, and not very cleverly done. Very lame.
Logistically impossible. However, I have no doubt that a large number of certain people are routinely monitored.
No one should notice a couple plainloads of men dressed in black suits and bulges under their coats.
You are right.... Should have said that every single conversation between certain suspects are routinely monitored.
No more than the Arabs who also stick out.
Is this speculation on your part or fact? If fact, have you seen it written somewhere that can be posted? Interesting if true.
Most unlikely to be any women, Steve. These agencies do employ many outstanding women but the CIA doesn't use them much in the paramilitary service (people like Mike Spann and his buddy Dave) which is deeply involved. And women make great agents in some societies, but not in Muslim nations where women are disrespected and excluded from so-called "men's business." Jihadi creeps usually aren't going to spill their secrets to their women; their read on the Koran keeps 'em "barefoot, pregnant and in the burqa."
A handful of women are in Afghanistan with the US military. You will continue to hear about them as they are outnumbered by the reporters who want desperately to make heroes out of them.
Finally, this story is such complete hooey... but it is typical of the sort of nonsense "informed" Muslims in Central Asia believe. Well, we too have our logically-challenged conspiracy buffs, why not the enemy, too?
