Just two days after a grand jury cleared six Minneapolis officers in the March shooting death of a Somali man, Police Chief Robert Olson faced Somali community members in a meeting that was marked more by conciliation than confrontation.

Several audience members told Olson and other police officials during the meeting that they could not understand why deadly force was used against Abu K. Jeilani, 28, who was mentally ill and was carrying a machete on the streets of south Minneapolis on March 10.

the department should do more to respect the Somali community, including hiring Somali officers.

They'll be able to afford your goat meat.

It might help if the Somali community had a little more respect for the police. The example of one Somali charging the police with a machete did not work. It is time for the Somali community to regroup and go to plan B which dictates that you don't go to a gunfight with a knife.

When in Somalia do as the Somalians do, when the in The US do as the people in that country do. I don't see too many people running around with a machete threatening the police here. This diversity thingy which our elite leaders endorse backfired in this incident.

"It is completely bizarre to shift the blame to the victim because of his mental illness,"....

Things like this happen almost on a daily basis. If it would have happened to you or I, it would be a non-issue. But since he was from Somalia that makes it front page news. Ain't diversity great?

Nowhere, in any article that I have read about this incident, has there been any question raised as to how a mentally ill Somali managed to enter the country.
