More than 400 killed in a seism in Iran (new assessment)

TEHERAN, June 22 (AFP) - More than 400 people were killed and a thousand of others were wounded in a violent one seism who struck Saturday the north and the west of Iran, according to a new assessment given by the television of State.
A preceding assessment, provided by official agency IRNA, gave a report from at least 200 killed and a significant number of casualties.
The most touched areas are located in the province of Qazvin (north-western), indicated television, specifying that the destruction was severe in the zone of Bouynzahra, epicentre of the seism.
According to IRNA, the seism was a magnitude of 6 on the Richter scale but the Observatory of sciences of the ground of Strasbourg, in the east of France, evaluated a this magnitude with 6,3.
The earthquake was felt in eight provinces, including that of Teheran.
